During the sangeet ceremony, Ashutosh couldn’t hold back his excitement and broke into dance to the tune of his own film’s iconic song, “Mitwa” from Lagaan. Released in 2001, this song, featuring Aamir Khan, was a massive hit and became an anthem. The song, "Mitwa, Sun Mitwa, Tujhko Kya Dar Hai Re?" earned Udit Narayan a Filmfare Award for Best Singer, and Aamir Khan also won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor for Lagaan. The film went on to win the National Award for Best Film in 2002.
