Asit Kumarr Modi attends SVP School’s 90-year celebration and inaugurates cultural event

The Kandivli Education Society (KES) celebrated 90 glorious years in education, marking a remarkable journey from 13 students in 1936 to over 22,000 students in 2025. Asit Kumarr Modi, creator of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and a former KES student, attended the event as an honoured guest and inaugurated the cultural programme along with Chairman Mahesh K. Shah.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by President Mahesh K. Shah, Vice President Mahesh Chandarana, and Hon. Jt. Secretary Bijal Dattani.
Artist Shyam Pathak, who plays Popatlal in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, was also attended the celebration.

A total of 500 students from KG to PG jointly presented a vibrant, fun fair and a cultural programme featuring Gujarati songs, cultural dances, and a special KES song performed by 100 students.

The fun fair also showcased a science exhibition by students from KG to PG, which drew enthusiastic participation from parents, teachers, alumni, and well-wishers.

Principals Dr. Sangeeta Srivastava (SVPV Vidyalaya & Sri T.P. Bhatia College of Science), Mrs. Kshama Valanju, Dr. Lily Bhushan, and Mrs. Prerna Joshi were present at the event.

Sharing his thoughts, Asit Kumarr Modi said: “Returning to KES is an emotional moment for me. The institution has shaped countless students across generations. Being part of its 90-year celebration is truly an honour. I congratulate the Trustees, Principals, teachers, students, parents and alumni for upholding such a meaningful legacy.”
