B’day Boy Anup Jalota overwhelmed with ‘showers’ of melody, love and ‘apnapan’ from Celebs and close-friends celebrating his Jalota-e- Janamdin Jashn ! by Chaitanya Padukone

July 29th was Padma Shri Anup Jalota’s birthday and he is now 71 years 'young'.!  Right from July 28th Sunday evening, the Jashn-e-Jalota-Janam celebrations had started. A galaxy of iconic celeb-singers including Nitin Mukesh, Hariharan, Richa Sharma, Papon, Sumeet Tappoo, Sai Ram Iyer as well as noted lyricist-writer Javed Akhtar and singer Sanjay Tandon (also Founder-CEO of ISAMRA) gathered to celebrate Anup-jee’s Bday ( with a ‘live’ gaana khazaana). The venue was at the new luxurious top-storeyed sea-facing Jalota apartment in Shivaji Park area. Following day there was a morning private B’day celebration hosted by eminent business tycoon and close family friend Ashok Hinduja and his family... In the evening again at his spacious residence, yet another galaxy of celebrity singers ( almost all of them performed ‘dil-sey’)  which included Jaspinder Narula, Madhushree, Samir  Date and Dipali Somaiya-Date, Ram Shankar, Jolly Mukherjee, Sanjeevani Belande, Sameer Sen, Ashok Khosla, Chandan Dass, Shameer Tandon, Krutika Shrivastava and charismatic singer-entrepreneur Lalitya Munshaw ( of famous ‘Red Ribbon’ music label) Lalitya's post-midnight devotional duet with Anup-jee was the perfect highlight climax of the celebration, as announced by Anup-ji himself.

Popular talented young singers like Sa Re Ga Ma Pa award-winner Ishita Vishwakarma and classical singer Ayaan Khan also impressed with their live extempore vocal performances The melodious ‘live’ surprise extempore medley of performances at the B’day party was led by host Anup Jalota himself who also sang a variety of filmy songs which enthralled the invitees. Among the star-turn-out at this B;day event was vivacious actress-model Tanu Vidyarthi who has this striking facial resemblance to legendary star heroine  Parveen Babi. Actress Tanu also disclosed that she has also done a bio-pic on the ‘Deewar’ (1975) heroine.

“Although I may have just turned  71 years, thanks to my vocal music passion, I am feeling re-charged with divine youthful energy. It feels as if  I have just touched 51 years. Honestly, I am so overwhelmed with the precious gift of showers of love, affection and the sentimental affinity (apnapan)  of all my well-wisher colleague celebrity singers and close friends, “enthused evergreen energetic bhajan samrat and ghazal badshah composer-singer-producer-actor Anup Jalota whose new well-decorated sea-facing apartment was studded all over with beautiful flower-bouquets and gifts given by the invitees. Later, Anup-ji informed me that the excellent B’day décorations were arranged by Apurva Khandelwal under supervision of Jalota's secretary-manager Bharat-bhai Oza
