From the recent mainstream commercial movies loaded with brutal violence, crazy action or erotic intimacy and item-songs. 'BAF' is a poignant family drama which also has that Hrishikesh Mukherji brand of sentimental cheerful-tearful tadkaa, But Binny dares to dive deep into the complexities and clash of generational differences, While entertaining the audiences, the movie with only meaningful background lyrical songs also offers practical solutions.. As to how a communication-gap and mutual adjustment is possible if a traditional orthodox grandfather and Gen-Z teenage rebellious grand-daughter decide to  resolve their lifestyle clashes and age-differences.

The film, starring senior star-actor Pankaj Kapur ( as grandfather )and Anjini Dhawan ( as Binny the grand-daughter) essentially offers a heartwarming exploration of a rebellious curt teenager's journey trying to become mutually compatible with her traditional head-strong grandfather..

Set against the backdrop of a modern-day UK household, the story revolves around Binny, a spirited young student who clashes with her grandparents' conservative values. When her grandparents arrive fin Birmingham (UK)  from India for a month-long trip, Binny finds herself navigating a delicate balance between respecting their traditions and bluntly asserting her own independence.

As expected, multiple National Award winning Pankaj Kapur delivers a stellar performance as the stern yet loving grandfather, capturing the nuances of his Bihar-born retired character with remarkable depth.even in scenes where he has no dialogues. Debutante  Anjini Dhawan ( grand-daughter of former lead actor Anil Dhawan)  is simply brilliant and confident as Binny,--- portraying her rebellious spirit and gradual transformation with authentic realistic vibes. In a particular tear-jerking apologetic monologue ( post-interval) with Pankaj's screen character where she breaks-down  she will move the audiences to tears.  The chemistry between the two actors is palpable, adding a layer of emotional resonance to their on-screen interactions.in both comic and serious scenes. There is excellent dramatic support from the rest of the cast which includes seasoned super-actors such as Rajesh Kumar  and Charu Shankar( as Binny's father and mother )  and  as the grandmother  and debut actor Naman Tripathy  as Binny's cool-dude Indian buddy  and a lovey-dovey classmate played by Tai Khan

Binny and Family Review: A Heartwarming Tale Bridging Generations

Despite its flaws and faults and a slightly dragging first-half, movie Binny and Family is a "must-watch" for its heartfelt storytelling with twists,  powerful performances, amazing visuals, .soothing and at times jolting background scores  It is a film that will leave every Gen-Z teenager and millennials  with a hangover of warm sense of nostalgia and a nagging need for re-connecting and bonding and spending quality-time  with one's ageing grandparents, during their life-time.
