Not only was their on-screen chemistry amazing and exciting, thier chemistry pleased their personal hearts as well, their love tale is a whirlwind of passion and desire whose echoes still remain within the records of Bollywood. But hidden behind the glitz and glamor of the tinsel town, was the tale of unrequited love. As Raj Kapoor struggled with the shackles of marriage and the shadow of his past. Nargis, whose heart was anxious on the future that belonged to her, was patiently waiting for the love that had remained a distant dream.

For almost a decade, she held on to hope. With every passing day Nargis's heart ached to be with Raj which never happened and until in the end, she found solace in the genuine arms of another young man . Her "Mother India" co-star Sunil Dutt became her support in the sea of uncertainty, and then Nargis turned her back on Raj for ever and embraced Sunil. This love remained with them throughout their life.

Now let's talk about another forgotten love story, which was between Bollywood's Dada Moni i.e. our dear Ashok Kumar and star actress Nalini Jaywant. Ashok Kumar's eyes met Nalini Jaywant, a lovely beauty, whose presence lit up the celluloid. Their on-screen chemistry went beyond acting and created a web of emotions that pondered the love that was hidden in their hearts.

With each moment they shared on the silver screen, their bond grew deeper, combining reel and actual life right into a complex combo of affection. But fate, as it usually happens, intervened and pushed them on different paths. Ashok Kumar found his soul mate within the arranged marriage arranged by the family, while Nalini Jaywant also chose her own path of love.

The trails of each parted ways. The echoes of their love story echoed through time, leaving behind a bittersweet legacy that could have succeeded. Now let's turn to yet another broken love story which began with the film "Jawaani Ki Hawa" (1935), an evergreen cinematic wonder from Bombay Talkies, starring Devika Rani and Najam-ul-Hassan. Like a chapter from Agatha Christie's mystical memories, it took place on a moving train and enthralled the audience. Devi discovered herself stuck up in the charms of Hassan, who was defined by fans of the era, as breathtakingly handsome and successful.   From Bombay Talkies' debut work "Jawaani Ki Hawa", a heart-touching scene depicts the love affair between Devika Rani and Najam-ul-Hassan.

Their on-screen chemistry blossomed over time again in "Jeevan Naiya" (1936), but their off-screen love, forced them to quietly elope from Kolkata.  And There was a dark shadow looming among their love story and their happiness. Actually, Devika Rani was already married to Bombay Talkies, co-founder of Himanshu Rai. The whispers of Devika's departure, spread in the air.

Himanshu Rai confided with Sashadhan Mukherjee and they both searched for her far and wide until he traced the eloping couple. Divorce was an unthinkable idea in those days, and so Mukherjee's inspiring words, ultimately convinced Devika Rani to go back to her husband. But Himanshu, confronted with Hasan's dismissal and threw Hasan out of his job.

Naturally Hassan returned like a lost lover. The interesting factor was that, Rai himself had once encouraged and helped Hassan to pursue his profession in acting. Traumatized by the loss of his wife to a handsome man, Rai decided on Kumudlal Kunjilal Ganguly, a humble assistant from his studio, to play the hero in Bombay Talkies' future films. Whose name was changed to Ashok Kumar as according to the public's liking. Regardless of all people within the studio having doubts about Ashok Kumar's suitability as a hero, Rai saw potential in Ashok Kumar's simple looks and thus superb actor Ashok Kumar emerged in the film industry as a super star.
