Helen was introduced to Bollywood by actress Cuckoo. She received her big break with the iconic song “Mera Naam Chin Chin Chu” from the 1958 film Howrah Bridge. During the 1950s and 60s, she became extremely popular for her item numbers and villainous roles. It was during this period that she met Salim Khan — a bond of love and deep friendship was formed, though they did not marry later. Helen was previously married to Prem Narayan Arora, but the couple divorced in 1974.
