Coming from a farming background, how did your journey towards acting begin?
I never imagined that I would become an actor. It happened quite naturally. During my college days, there used to be a show, and one of my friends asked me to walk the ramp for him. I casually agreed. Since my height worked in my favor, I ended up winning the show. I enjoyed the experience a lot.
That’s when I thought of exploring fashion and modeling. I shifted to Delhi and told my family that I wanted to pursue modeling. Soon after, I got my first advertisement, and gradually, I found my way into the entertainment industry.
From Tabbar to Chamak, you have portrayed very different characters. Which role was the most challenging for you?
All the characters I have played so far are special to me. However, Chamak was the most challenging. The character was a singer with intense aggression.
He had long hair and a very different dressing style—something completely opposite to who I am in real life. I have always kept short hair and never imagined growing it long. While acting is about craft and adapting with time, this role pushed me far out of my comfort zone. Eventually, I became comfortable, but it was definitely one of my toughest performances.

What does being part of an iconic franchise like Border 2 mean to you emotionally and professionally?
Initially, I had no idea how big this film actually was. For me, it was just another project. I only wanted to understand my role and meet the director.
But when I started telling people that I was doing Border 2, their reactions surprised me. Everyone reacted with disbelief and excitement. Even my father responded the same way. That’s when it truly sank in how massive this film is.
Border holds a very deep emotional connection with audiences. It is a film watched by my grandmother, my father, and me—three generations. Being part of Border 2 is incredibly special and meaningful for me.

How was your experience sharing screen space with Sunny Deol?
The first time I saw Sunny sir on set, I instantly felt the aura of a true star. I had never experienced anything like that before. Whenever he arrived on set, the entire atmosphere changed—everyone became more focused and disciplined.
I even found myself thinking that Sunny sir should come to the set every day because people worked with so much sincerity in his presence. I did get the chance to speak to him, though I was quite overwhelmed. All I managed to say was that it was really nice meeting him, and he smiled shyly, which made the moment even more special.

Did you undergo any special physical training or preparation for Border 2?
Yes, there was extensive preparation. I was informed that the film involved action sequences, so I trained accordingly. I worked on improving my flexibility and practiced yoga to prepare my body.
For the character’s look, I gained some weight to appear convincing as a Haryanvi Jaat, since the story is set in a different era. I also grew a full moustache to suit the role.

What message would you like to give to aspiring actors from small towns?
My message is simple—come prepared with inner strength. The beginning is never easy, but Mumbai eventually makes you stronger. For that, your own willpower needs to be strong.
Secondly, if you arrive with too many backup plans, your focus shifts away from your main goal. When you know there is always another option, you cannot give your hundred percent to your dream. And most importantly, if you come here, come ready to work hard—not just for fun, but with complete dedication.
