Chef Harpal Singh Sokhi, who was recently seen in Laughter Chef Season 3, feels that the culinary industry is going through a revolutionary phase.

When asked about the current food trends, he said, "I see small plates, I see more regional, I see more ingredient-oriented dishes coming, I see a lot of unusual international products being used in cooking, and I see cross-pollination of products across all recipes. That is what is happening."

He further revealed that even his restaurant, Karigari, is evolving. He said, "We are bringing some old-age recipes into new ones. We are infusing flavors that are international in traditional recipes. We are bringing in very rural recipes and making them presentable and more adaptable to the mass market. So, these are the trends that we are following, and they are paying off."

While food trends are keeping him busy, he is not interested in keeping up with the social media trends. He calls social media a tricky platform and says, "You have to draw a line between yourself and people. Sometimes I would say that, in the platform that I am in, some people get toxic at times and pass nasty remarks, but you have to let them go, focus on whatever you are doing, and do constructive things."

"In my field, I try to pass on whatever knowledge I have acquired over a period of time, and I want to share it through social media with people and not keep it hidden. So that is my take on social media," he added.

He feels people should be creative in their own field and portray that on such platforms. "Be something that is more informative that will help people and keep spreading the positive vibes through social media. That is my goal in social media, and I keep following that. I do not follow trends most of the time, which sometimes I feel are stupid and do not match my profile," Chef Harpal ended.
