CineVester International Film Festival 2025: Opens Grandly with Jasbir Jassi’s Performance

The second edition of the Cinevester International Film Festival kicked off with a spectacular performance by renowned singer Jasbir Jassi, setting the stage for an inspiring celebration of cinema. Jasbir Jassi's vibrant folk tunes made the audience, including Nandita Das, Sudhir Mishra, and Honey Trehan, sway with joy.

The festival, held from March 20 to 23, 2025, in Chandigarh, began with the screening of the award-winning Korean feature A Normal Family. The first day also featured insightful industry discussions, engaging conversations, and thought-provoking panels at the Market SIVI-CHD.

Cinevester Film Festival Enriching Chandigarh's Cinema Scene

Cinevester International Film Festival (CIVFF) is creating a rich film culture in cities that crave cinema, investing in both the business and creative aspects of film content. Chandigarh, nestled at the foothills of the Himalayas, is India’s first planned city, designed by the famous architect and urban planner Le Corbusier. Its inherent understanding of art and design has served as a rich springboard for the first and second editions of CIVFF. The first edition of CIFF, held from March 27 to 31, 2024, was a major success with over 1,000 delegates in attendance.

In Cine Voice, a conversation was held with actor-director-producer Randeep Hooda, actor-filmmaker-social activist Nandita Das, and producer-director Honey Trehan, who shared their perspectives on the evolving landscape of cinema.

Key highlights from the first day’s Industry Talk included an engaging discussion by author Khushwant Singh on Maharaja in Denims, India’s first AI-generated feature film, and a fascinating session by Balwant Singh, founder of Zeeniverse Motion Pictures Pvt. Ltd., on the business of theatrical distribution.
