"Citadel: Honey Bunny" Trailer Launch: Varun & Samantha's Exciting Duo!

The highly anticipated series "Citadel: Honey Bunny" recently unveiled its trailer. The launch event saw the attendance of Varun Dhawan, Samantha Prabhu, and the entire cast, including Simran, Saqib Saleem, Sikandar Kher, Soham Majumdar, Shivankit Parashar, Kashvi Majumdar, along with directors Raj, DK, and Sita.

In this series, Samantha plays the mother of a young girl named Nadia, while Varun portrays Bunny, an orphan and serious spy. KK Menon also plays a significant role, and Shivankit Parashar, known for "Aspirants," joins the cast as well.

At the trailer launch event, Samantha looked stunning in a black dress, with her hair tied back in a ponytail. Both she and Varun posed for the media, radiating excitement about the action-packed trailer. When asked if they underwent special training for their roles, Varun shared, “We prepared extensively under the guidance of Raj, DK, and Sita. We hope our work resonates with the audience.” Samantha added, “We received tremendous support throughout this series, and now that it’s close to release, I’m filled with joy.”

Varun discussed the filming experience, mentioning late-night calls to Raj and DK to discuss action scenes. When Samantha was asked about being approached for the role of Honey, she expressed, “It felt fantastic to be part of an international story involving Priyanka Chopra. It’s a narrative that connects with people.”

Young actress Kashvi Majumdar, who plays Nadia, expressed her happiness about having such wonderful on-screen parents. She shared her enjoyment of working with everyone and the fun she had playing games with DK.

Sikandar Kher, known from the web series "Aarya," also expressed his enjoyment in working with the team and praised Raj for creating a compelling series with impressive action sequences.

During the event, Varun was congratulated on completing 12 years in the industry, with this series marking his 60th film. He shared that he became a fan of Samantha after watching "Makkhi."

Varun revealed that the series is set in the 90s, a decade he admires, thanks to his father's film productions during that time.

What’s the Story?

"Citadel: Honey Bunny," an Indian adaptation of the American series "Citadel," is directed by Raj and DK. The narrative follows Honey, a struggling actress, and Bunny, a stuntman, who enter the world of espionage. Years later, as their past catches up with them, they unite to protect their daughter, Nadia.

The series will stream on the OTT platform Prime Video on November 7. Expect thrilling stunts and action in this web series, marking the first collaboration between Varun and Samantha. Written by Sita RM along with Raj and DK, it is produced by D2R Films and Amazon MGM Studios, with executive production by the Russo Brothers' AGBO.
