Colors TV's Manpasand Ki Shaadi : Rajshri Productions new show that will change the way we look at marriage

In the world of Indian television, the name Rajshri Productions instantly reminds us of stories filled with family bonds, relationships, love, and values. Now once again, Rajshri Productions, (Manpasand Ki Shaadi Colors TV premiere) in association with Colors TV, is set to bring a drama based on a completely new idea – ‘Manpasand Ki Shaadi’ (Marriage of Choice). This show will offer viewers a fresh perspective on marriage.

On this occasion, a press conference was held where Rajshri Productions, the makers of the show, and the (Manpasand Ki Shaadi cast and characters) star cast were present. Notable attendees included Suraj Barjatya, lead actress Esha Suryavanshi, Akshun Mahajan, Milind Gawli, Suchitra Bandekar, Avinash Wadhawan, and Gungun Uprari, along with other members associated with the show.

A unique concept

So far, we’ve only heard of two kinds of marriages—love marriage and arranged marriage. But the idea behind this show is “Marriage of Choice” – a marriage in which children (Who plays Aarohi in Manpasand Ki Shaadi) get the time and opportunity to choose their own life partner, while parents are also involved in the decision.
According to the makers, “In today’s time, most youngsters marry at the age of 27–28 and are mature enough to choose the right life partner for themselves. What’s needed is trust and the right guidance.”

Story background

Talking about the storyline, Suraj Barjatya said that the show is set in a small village (Manpasand Ki Shaadi storyline explained) called Vitthalgaon on the Maharashtra–Madhya Pradesh border. It follows the story of Arohi Shinde, whose parents run a cow dairy farm. Bright and ambitious, Arohi is sent to Indore, where she has a chance to secure a job with a package of ₹60 lakhs. But in the meantime, her marriage is fixed, making her uncomfortable. She then asks her father for one month’s time to find her own life partner.

He further said that nowadays parents should give their children the freedom to choose their own life partner. Children, too, should check if the person they’ve shortlisted really fits their criteria.

Makers’ and channel’s vision

According to Colors TV and Rajshri Productions, the foundation of this show is based on a year-long (Manpasand Ki Shaadi promo overview) research aimed at understanding how today’s youth perceive marriage. Suraj Barjatya believes, “Marriage should be a blend of family and values. Marriage of Choice is about maintaining that balance.”

Esha Suryavanshi and Akshun speak

At the press meet, actress Esha Suryavanshi, who plays Arohi, said this is her first lead role and she is extremely happy to be working with Rajshri. Actor Akshun Mahajan shared that the songs (Manpasand Ki Shaadi OTT streaming JioHotstar) of the show are beautiful and that viewers will also get to see the playful banter between Arohi and Abhishek.

Senior actress Suchitra Bandekar said that the concept (Manpasand Ki Shaadi show time Colors TV) of the show is excellent and that everyone should have a “Manpasand Ki Shaadi” (marriage of choice). Marathi actor Milind Gawli expressed that he had always wanted to work with Rajshri, and through Colors TV, he has finally got that opportunity, for which he is very happy. The actors also revealed that they will be playing the roles of Arohi’s (Esha Suryavanshi) parents in the show.
