Shefali Shah on her character

Shefali Shah talks Delhi crime season 3, Vartika Chaturvedi, and her battle with impostor syndrome: “Every time I feel this is a fluke” 3

When asked how her character Vartika has evolved after becoming a DIG, Shefali said, “Every case, every moment brings out a different side of a person. A crime from a year ago would be handled differently today. She’s now a DIG but has been distanced from her team and family. Still, she wants to return to the field, get her hands dirty. Yes, she can now make decisions with her head, but her heart is still the same.”

When asked if she feels pressured since the show is Emmy Award-winning, Shefali replied humbly, “The nervousness started yesterday itself. I just wanted to hide. While shooting, I never think about the Emmy win. I only focus on being the truest version of Vartika. Yes, there’s nervousness now — but that’s the real love I have for this show.”

Director Tanuj Chopra on Season 3

Director Tanuj Chopra explained, “We’ve made Season 3 broader and fresher than the previous ones. The earlier seasons were dark; this time, we expanded the palette — more daytime scenes, more emotions, more charm, and new faces. We also wanted new viewers to start from Season 3 and then go back to Seasons 1 and 2. The world of crime has become deeper.”

Tanya Bami

Producer Tanya Bami said, “‘Delhi Crime’ isn’t just about crime — it’s a story from the heart. This season’s focus is human trafficking — the horrifying reality of buying and selling girls, children, and brides. The season’s dialogue ‘No one misses missing girls’ reflects the apathy of our society.”

Apoorva Bakshi - IMDb
