Dharmendra Becomes the First Star to Witness People Mourning His Own “Death”

Newspaper presses were halted, pages were left blank—reserved for the news of veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra’s “death.” This happened at the office of Hamara Mahanagar in Mumbai, and the same scene played out across almost every newsroom—Navbharat Times, Saamana, Maharashtra Times, and others. Reporters spent the night of November 10–11, 2025, waiting outside Breach Candy Hospital for official confirmation that the 89-year-old “He-Man” of Hindi cinema had passed away. Some didn’t even wait for confirmation before publishing the story.

Dharmendra Fake News Triggers Industry Reactions

Then came the social media storm. A well-known film producer was the first to post on Facebook: “Dharmendra is no more.” His name isn’t worth mentioning here—because soon, he and others who followed his lead, including a few actresses, expressed regret for their haste. Hundreds of people from the industry started posting old photos with Dharmendra, trying to prove their closeness to him.

Dharmendra Death Rumor Shocks Fans Online

The rumor spread so fast that even credible sources seemed to confirm it. A post by Ashok Shekhar, son of the late actor Chandrashekhar and a well-known TV producer known for breaking celebrity news first, made many believe it was true. Even major outlets like Aaj Tak picked it up. YouTubers took it further—running emotional clips, fake visuals of a grieving Hema Malini, and even footage of her cars and home.

Late that night, several stars—Shah Rukh Khan, Aryan Khan, Salman Khan, Govinda, and Amisha Patel—visited the hospital. The Deol family was, of course, already there. YouTubers and influencers competed to reveal who had arrived, whether Dharmendra’s daughters had flown in from abroad, and what was happening inside the hospital. It became a media circus.

Meanwhile, the country was already tense after a bomb blast in Delhi the same night, and the false death reports added to the sense of gloom. Then, by noon the next day, the truth began to emerge: Dharmendra was alive, stable, and showing signs of recovery. His son, actor Sunny Deol, who looked visibly shattered, confirmed it himself—“He’s fine.” His daughter Esha Deol also posted, “Papa is stable and recovering. The media needs to respect our family’s privacy.”

Both his wives, Prakash Kaur and Hema Malini, along with all four daughters, sons-in-law, and grandchildren—13 family members in total—gathered at the hospital that night. The family stood by the legendary actor, tears in their eyes, as their beloved “Garam Dharam” fought for his life and emerged victorious once again. Doctors said the next 48 hours were critical, but Dharmendra pulled through. He will turn 90 this December. Actress Tripti Agarwal shared her joy on social media: “Praji, you’ve got to hit that century!”

Producer-director Sachindra Sharma wrote, “They say those who escape death live longer. Dharmendra’s survival feels exactly like that. Plans for his prayer meet and funeral had already been made.”

The rush to spread false news of his death was shameful. Dharmendra is not just a superstar—he’s revered in the industry for his humility and kindness. A Padma Shri awardee and a Lifetime Achievement recipient from Filmfare, he has also served as an MP from Bikaner. His wife and sons are public figures too. For such a beloved man, it’s tragic that people were so quick to announce his “end.”

Hema Malini expressed her anger the next morning, posting at 9:40 a.m.: “What’s happening is unforgivable. How can responsible news channels spread lies about someone who is responding to treatment and getting better? It’s disrespectful and irresponsible.”

Millions across India are praying for his recovery. The entire Deol family—Sunny, Bobby, Hema, and others—have paused their work to be by his side. Mayapuri magazine has shared a bond with Dharmendra since the beginning of his career, and we all wish him strength, health, and a long life.
