Popular charming heroine and legendary amazing star-actress Kamini Kaushal passed away--Today-- which is Children's Day ( Nov 14th) !  Its such a surreal divine coincidence that 'late' Kamini (real name Uma Kashyap--Sood ) passed away on Childrens Day ! Because  she had personally told me some years ago, that with her playful, amicable nature she was very fond of children . Which is why she had readily accepted the post of  Chairperson of Children's Film Society. Kamini-jee passionately produced various cute Puppets Films like Chandamama etc for which she gave her own endearing 'voice-overs'. She also personally involved in making and hosting TV shows for children !

Besides her glorious acting career as a lead actress opposite the three top legends like Raj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar and Dev Anand the multi-talented  Kamini Kaushal was also highly involved more as a passion in children's entertainment, particularly in television programming and writing stories. While she acted in numerous feature films across several decades, her direct contributions to children's specific content were mainly outside of mainstream cinema.

TV Shows: In the late 1980s and early 1990s, under her production banner Gudia Ghar Productions, she produced and hosted several puppet-based TV shows on Doordarshan. She made all the puppets herself and even lent her voice to the different characters.

These shows included:Chaand Sitare, Chaat Paani. Chandamama, and Khel Khilone.  She also made an animation film called Meri Pari for children in 1986.! She wrote stories for the children's magazine Paraag, featuring characters like 'Bunty', 'Chotbhai', and 'Motabhai', which were apparently loosely based on her own real-life sons and their cousins. For a certain period during the late 1970s, Kamini was apointed the Chairperson of the Children's Film Society.  and contributed to its steady development with her dedicated acumen.

We at Mayapuri and bollyy.com pray that Her Soul rests in eternal peace and we offer our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved Family Members.
