Seven days since its release on Valentine’s Day, spectacular movie Chhaava’s victorious roar and galloping speed at the box-office race-course seems ‘unstoppable’ ! The macho, handsome superstar Vicky Kaushal-led historical drama on the life of Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, directed by ‘Man-of-the-Match’ Captain Laxman Utekar, is now racing towards the Rs 300 Crore box-office mark. Its time for jubilant celebrations not only for visionary producer Dinesh Vijan ( of super-hit ‘Stree2’ fame) backed project, but also for the Hindi film industry at large. Which is always craving for blockbuster hits and bringing back crores of movie-lovers back to their nearest cinema-theatres.
As expected Vicky Kaushal’s entire family is super-delighted including star actress-wife Katrina Kaif and veteran action-director famous father Sham Kaushal, mother Veena Kaushal and actor-brother Sunny Kaushal.
Speaking exclusively to bollyy.com, the modest Sham Kaushal said, “Humbly speaking film-making is always the result of cast-crew team joint combined creative effort. So I feel that the Entire Team including my son Vicky Kaushal-- led by ‘Chhaava’ ‘Captain’ Laxman Utekar and producer Dinesh Vijan deserves to get credit for its block-buster Runs-Score,” says Sham Kaushal!
When Vicky made his acting debut in movie Masaan (2015) did father Sham Kaushal anticipate that his son had the potential to be a future-superstar?
Responds Sham, “Always be honest and be dedicated to the present, Your Karma and God will take care of the future. Simply because, as a human being the future and destiny is not in our hands. Keeping doing your best and Karma will take care of what you deserve. Right from beginning our mission in life for me and both my sons Vicky and Sunny has been focus-on-the present, leve the rest to divine powers,” replies Sham.
What was the valuable career-advice Sham gave to his actor-sons when they initially started off?
Replying to me, Sham discloses, “ Frankly speaking, we can’t teach everything to our children. Whatever they observe and experience at home and outside in real-life that is also their best ‘teacher’. Originally I came from a village with hardly anything and in Mumbai we used to stay in a ‘chawl’ . We have also gone though a lot of struggle and hardships. That’s where my children have observed that there is no easy short-cut to success and fame. There is no alternative to honesty and hard work, is what both Vicky and Sunny had learnt from day one. . As far as acting craft is concerned, they both know that there is always scope for more and better improvement all thru your career . But the priority star-quality is to first be a ‘good-human-being’ who is also modest and humble. Which both my sons have been following. As far as career-success I am sincerely grateful to all the eminent Producers and Directors for having faith and confidence and casting Vicky in such different contrast lead characters in their movies. Also I am immensely grateful to God for giving me and my sons, much more than what we were expecting" !
