The inaugural evening of the ‘Falak’ art show, curated by the 16-year-old Raynah Hazari, at Cymroza Art Gallery, was nothing short of magical, filled with moments of warmth, connection, and inclusivity. On a chilly December evening, artists and art enthusiasts gathered to celebrate the power of creativity as transgender and non-transgender participants celebrated and lauded each other's works. The event was graced by philanthropist Dr Aneel Kashi Murarka, veteran artist Surendra Jagtap, and Prachi Lalwani, who applauded the initiative's heartfelt vision.

‘Falak’, is a unique art exhibition, the brainchild of the 16-year-old artist Raynah Hazari, a student of Hill Spring International School. Taking forward her commitment to fostering inclusion and empowerment, Raynah, mentored by her art teacher Satyendra Rane, under the aegis of Sahayog Art Foundation, has organized an inclusive art exhibition that brings together members of the transgender community interested in art and established artists under one roof. Besides Sahayog Art Foundation, the event is ably supported by Alert Citizen Forum.

The exhibition showcases works of artists from Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Gwalior, and Bangalore, featuring a diverse array of contemporary artworks. It includes paintings across mediums such as acrylics, penwork, charcoal, and mixed media, along with striking sculptures.

The exhibition showcases the talents of 9 artists from the transgender community alongside 23 other accomplished artists. The participating artists from the transgender community include Aishu Jadhav, Dhanu Negi, Shruti Singh, Sridevi Londhe, Shabbo Shaikh, Swaradnya Dattophadhye, Monika, Nidhi More, and Kajal Kurva. Joining them are established artists Anupama Mandavkar, Bharati Dhawale, Ganesh Hire, Kimaya Singhania, Kamal Ahamed, Mukund Ketkar, Madhumita Basu, Mahima Saini, Poonam Fernandes, Revathi Shivkumar, Raghav Subandh, Ranjan Patel, Shailaja Kamat, Surendra Jagtap, Satyendra Rane, Sneha Nikam, Sulbha Chandane, Trupti Shah, Usha Chhadva, Vidhi Doshi, Vibha Sharma, Viresh Patali, Vaibahvi Shandilya, and Raynah Hazari herself.

Falak is on display at Cymroza Art Gallery till 22nd December 2024.
