In an interview with Prasar Bharati, Panchamda said that one day Roshan ji had come to his father i.e. S.D. Burman Sahab's house, where both of them were sitting and talking about music. During this period, S.D. Burman praised the songs and music of Roshan's film 'Mamta'.
After this, Roshan Ji said, "You don't know how we make songs. This is a secret." Panchamda further says, "This is a matter of learning. Because the public doesn't know how a musician makes songs."

Panchamda called this incident schooling and he thought that he should also do the same after that he started composing songs with the meter of hit songs of Shankar-Jaikishan, S.D.
