Rajkummar Rao’s Dream Journey
At the press conference, Rajkummar Rao revealed that since childhood his dream had been to stand on the Filmfare stage. He said, “The second dream I ever had was to one day stand on the Filmfare stage and hold the Black Lady in my hands.” So far, he has won six Filmfare Awards, which he considers symbols of emotion and honor. Sharing his memories of shooting in Gujarat, he said, “We shot for 60–70 days in Gujarat. Even in the scorching June heat, the team created a wonderful atmosphere. When the film ‘Srikanth’ released, people showered so much love on me that many legendary actors personally called to congratulate me. For me, that is the biggest award.”
On King Khan: Tamannaah and Rajkummar Recall
At the event, Tamannaah recalled, “When I was performing to ‘Chammak Challo’ at a Filmfare show in the South in front of Shah Rukh Khan, I was terrified, yet I still performed. That remains the most memorable Filmfare moment of my life.” She also remembered paying tribute to Prabhu Deva at one of the Filmfare Awards. Meanwhile, Rajkummar expressed his excitement at seeing Shah Rukh Khan again after a long time.
Tamannaah also recalled her bond with Filmfare Editor Jitesh Pillai, saying that in the early days, the relationship between media and artists was personal and trustworthy. She said, “When I shared my experiences, I trusted that my words would be presented exactly as I said them.”
What Should Change and What Should Remain
When asked what should change in award shows and what should remain, Rajkummar Rao said, “The design of the Black Lady trophy should never change—it is a symbol, a part of history.” Tamannaah added that the night is a celebration of the entire film industry, special not only for actors but also for technicians and the audience.
Awards in the Social Media Era
Discussing the era of social media and OTT, both stars admitted that earlier, watching the awards live on TV had its own thrill, as the element of surprise for the winners remained intact. Now, everything gets leaked beforehand. Still, Rajkummar Rao said, “The identity and the feeling of a National Award or a Filmfare Award—something no other awards can match—are priceless.” Tamannaah agreed, adding that the prestige represents hard work and honor. When asked how many awards they want, both replied, “As long as we keep working, we hope to win every year. Now that there are Filmfare Awards for OTT too, those trophies will also decorate our homes.”
Worldwide Media Director Shares Details
Rohit Gopakumar, Director of Worldwide Media and CEO of ZENL, BCCL TV, and Digital Network, revealed that Shah Rukh Khan will be present at the show. Along with him, Karan Johar and Maniesh Paul will add comedy and fun to the stage. In addition, Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Ananya Panday will also deliver performances.
Jitesh Pillai highlighted the importance of actresses in Filmfare, saying, “From Meena Kumari to Alia Bhatt—women have given this industry its soul. Filmfare Awards do not just showcase glamour, they salute true art and hard work. And remember—the Black Lady is also a woman, not a Black Gentleman.” He also recalled Shah Rukh Khan’s journey as a host, saying, “When I was 17, I saw him in the song ‘Yeh Kaali Kaali Aankhen’ from Baazigar.”
