While the film stars big names like Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor, and Deepika Padukone, there is one actor who has caught the audience’s attention with his villainous role. Yes, we are talking about Arjun Kapoor. Playing the character of Danger Lankesh, Arjun has been receiving a lot of love from fans, but behind the spotlight, he has also been dealing with personal struggles. Let’s hear from Arjun himself about how he views this newfound love from the audience and his journey so far. Arjun Kapoor’s Thoughts on Appreciation In a recent post on his Instagram, titled “Yakeen Na Karne Walon Ko Yakeen Karne Tak Badalna Hai” (We must prove to the non-believers until they believe), Arjun shared his thoughts on how he has always believed in working humbly and letting his work speak for itself. He mentioned that while he has always kept his head down and focused on his work, now that his performance as Danger Lankesh in Singham Again is being appreciated, it feels right to respond to those who once doubted his abilities. Arjun added, “I understand that questioning is their right, but some people just ask to make fun. Now that people like my work, I believe it's only fair to remind them of my good work. When negativity is thrown at you, you quietly bear it, but when your work is appreciated, it's time to remind people of your achievements." Difficult Times and Personal Struggles Reflecting on his toughest times, Arjun recalled the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. He shared, “I was feeling very lost during that time. It was a difficult phase for me. For the last one and a half to two years, I was struggling with my physical and mental health, as well as my career.” He confessed that during this period, people were more focused on his success rather than the actual work he was doing. He felt that being a mainstream hero, success at the box office was essential. He mentioned that when his film Ek Villain Returns didn’t perform well at the box office, it was a huge blow for him. “If Singham Again hadn’t come my way, I would have broken down.” Physical Transformation Journey On his physical transformation, Arjun shared that he has always made an effort to work on his physique. He had lost 50 kilograms when he entered the industry, but after some years, his luck turned, and health issues arose. He was diagnosed with a complicated thyroid condition, which couldn't be treated with medication alone. He had to reduce his stress levels, which, as an actor, is difficult due to the pressure of the profession. “At that time, I was only 30-31 years old,” he said. Over time, Arjun worked on his lifestyle to bring his stress levels under control. Dealing with Anger and Personality Arjun also spoke about his negative side, particularly his anger. He admitted that when he gets angry, it’s like boiling milk — it erupts for a brief moment but cools down quickly. “When I lose my temper, people get scared, and they often say that my personality can be intimidating.” However, he feels that he is misunderstood, as he is generally a reserved person. “I don’t like my anger, but I am quick to apologize once I calm down. I am very emotional and transparent, so I can't hide anything,” Arjun confessed. Satisfaction with His Look in Singham Again Arjun mentioned that he was satisfied with his look in Singham Again. He explained, “In mainstream cinema, you have to understand that you are part of a larger picture. I come from a school of filmmaking where multi-starrer movies were the norm, like Amar Akbar Anthony or Ram Lakhan. I don’t mind sharing the screen with multiple stars, and I have done that in films like Gunday, Finding Fanny, Mubarakan, Bhoot Police, and Villain.” He emphasized that working with the likes of Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, and Ranveer Singh was a big deal for him. Handling Insecurities in a Multi-Starrer Film Arjun spoke about his initial insecurities when he was offered Singham Again. He revealed, “When Rohit Shetty, the director, called me to explain the script, all my insecurities vanished. I was initially nervous about how my look would turn out, but once I saw it after the photoshoot, I was happy.” He also acknowledged that working with multiple stars in a film was not a problem for him and he was excited to work with big names in the industry. The Road Ahead for Arjun Kapoor Arjun Kapoor's success in Singham Again has made it clear that he is here to stay in the industry. With this film’s success, Arjun is likely to receive more offers and is on his way to proving himself further in the industry. It’s evident that Arjun Kapoor’s journey has been anything but easy, but with hard work, dedication, and the support of his fans, he is slowly carving his place in Bollywood.
