Iftekhar shared some stories about Ashok Kumar (Dada Muni)

When the invitation came for a party organized by the International Film Society in honor of Ashok Kumar, I accepted it. But I knew that nothing was going to happen except long speeches. But the interesting speech of artist Iftekhar there removed all the boredom.

The faction was in the Crystal Room of the Taj. B. Of. Karanjia and Mohan Bhatia were the chiefs. The guests included only David of Film Line, Niruparai, Deven Verma, Nana Palsikar, Iftekhar, Basu Chatterjee, Director Bridge, Devendra Goyal, and G. P. Sippy.

Everyone said something in praise of Dada Muni - but Iftekhar said some interesting things.

Some interesting stories about Dada Muni

Iftekhar said that Dada Muni likes to wear only a kurta and pajama at home. But there is never a pulse in his pajamas. They work by tying knots. He has a habit of doing something or the other at home. Many times it has happened that he was climbing a table and hanging a photo on the wall. And the knot of his pajama gets untied…you can guess what happens next.

Once when Iftekhar reached to meet Dada Muni, he was found outside the building and was looking very serious. He quietly took out the car and asked Iftekhar to sit. Seeing his mood, Iftekhar sat quietly in the car.

After some time, he saw that the car was going out of the city, so he couldn't control himself and asked Dada Muni.

“Where are we going?”

Dada Muni said, “Today I am very sad. I have decided that both of us will go somewhere far and will stay in a hotel for five days and take a rest." Iftekhar, knowing Dada Muni's habit, said, "This is fine. But if you have to stay out for so many days, you also need money for expenses. I didn't bring anything. Do you have money?

“For expenses! Yes-yes, it's a lot.”

''How much?”

''Hundred rupees! ''Dada Muni spoke very simply.

That is one thing! And listen!

When Dada Muni goes to the bathroom to take a bath, he has at least two hours to himself. There he takes a bath after making a whole day's program of doing some exercise and memorizing the dialogues of the shooting etc. The housekeeper always keeps a kurta pajama for them in the bathroom before they go inside.

One day when he came out of the bath, he saw strange cartoons drawn on him. He was wearing a kurta on top. He was wearing a kurta instead of a pajama on his lower legs. What happened was that the servant had mistakenly kept both the kurta instead of the kurta and pajama.
