The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Mumbai, a premier management institute ranked 6th in NIRF 2024, and Whistling Woods International (WWI), India’s premier institute for Film, Communication and Creative Arts, partner to announce a landmark program in India’s Media & Entertainment educational landscape – IIM’s first-ever MBA in Media & Entertainment.
IIM Mumbai Launches MBA for Media & Entertainment
This pioneering MBA program marks a transformative step in bridging business leadership with the creative economy. By combining WWI’s industry-driven, experiential pedagogy with IIM Mumbai’s academic excellence, the program aims to groom professionals who can lead innovation and bring in world-class management skills to the rapidly evolving global Media & Entertainment (M&E) sector.
Director IIM Mumbai view’s it as a unique program and its curriculum spans the entire M&E spectrum, including film, TV & OTT, corporate finance, data science, brand management, emerging technologies & IP, animation & comics business, and M&E law and ethics. Students will benefit from immersive sessions across both WWI and IIM Mumbai campuses, enriched by real-world case studies, live projects, and mentorship from top industry leaders.

In a recent development, the filmmaker Subhash Ghai had a meeting with Dr. P.K. Mishra, Principal Secretary to the Honourable PM Narendra Modi, Dr. Manoj Tiwari (Director, IIM Mumbai), Subhash Chandra, and Ajay Bijli. The meeting centered on the recent partnership between IIM Mumbai and Whistling Woods International (WWI) regarding their MBA program in Media & Entertainment.
Program Details
Graduates will receive a coveted IIM MBA, full alumni status, and access to a powerful professional network. The inaugural batch commences in June 2026, with admissions through the CAT Score followed by personal interviews. Applicants must hold a recognized graduate degree with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwD).
