Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda is all set for his first major action-drama film Ikkis, which will hit theatres on 25 December 2025. Before the release, the film’s team — Agastya Nanda, Simar Bhatia, director Sriram Raghavan and producer Dinesh Vijan — came together on Thursday to honor Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra awardee. Arun Khetarpal showed extraordinary courage during the 1971 war at just 21 years of age.

Agastya Nanda Became Emotional
At the event, Agastya Nanda, along with the entire cast, unveiled a tank in memory of Arun Khetarpal. While sharing his experience, Agastya became emotional and said that portraying Arun Khetarpal has been an honor and a matter of immense pride for him.
Addressing the audience, he said, “The most special thing about this story for me is how young Arun Khetarpal was when he showed such exceptional courage. I want to tell the schoolchildren present here that when you watch this film, you will learn a lot from him. He was one of India’s bravest and most passionate soldiers.”

Agastya further added, “I believe the biggest message this film gives is that age does not define your ability to change the world. This message is especially for the young people here. And I feel immense pride and gratitude for every soldier and every member of the Indian Army.”
Jaideep Ahlawat Shared His Experience
Actor Jaideep Ahlawat, who has always felt an emotional connection with the armed forces, shared his SSB experience. He recalled that he failed twice and still feels the regret of not being able to join the Army.

Lieutenant General D.S. Kushwah’s Words

“This is a story we have heard since childhood. At the NDA, my first encounter was with his portrait and the stories of his bravery. Arun Khetarpal is the greatest example of how a 21-year-old can possess such courage, determination and decision-making ability.”
He also spoke about the Army’s remarkable history—from the battles of 1948, 1962, 1971 to Kargil—and congratulated the makers of Ikkis for bringing this inspiring story to the screen, saying the film will motivate the younger generation.
