Call it a divine surreal coincidence that just 03 days after Dharmendra's 90th B'Day ( Dec 8th) ---'Sholay The Final Cut 4K' restored version will release on Friday Dec12th release in 1500 theatres, according to cine-trade information.  ! The restored 4K release of Sholay--The Final Cut will also mark 50 years of the original Sholay ( 1975) . The restoration done by Film Heritage Foundation ( FHF)  will include the controversial Original violent uncut-ending climax with revenge-seeking Sanjeev Kumar's Thakur character brutally killing Gabbar Singh( Amjad Khan) with both his shoes soles which have sharp nails fixed on them.

At the ongoing 56th (IFFI-2025 ) International Film Festival of India, in Goa, celebrated veteran 'Sholay' director Ramesh Sippy fondly remembered his late mega-star-actor friend Dharmendra, highlighting his irreplaceable glorious legacy in films and evergreen film songs.There can 'never' be another 'Veeru-Dharmendra -he has left behind a huge void- but has also left behind his glorious legacy of movies and songs, we will always miss him." Many years before  Salman Khan even made his acting debut  Dharmendra was possibly among the first macho' he-man' handsome lead-star actors who dared to pose 'shirtless for the movie -camera.

Visionary Ramesh Sippy and benevolent Dharmendra’s friendship lasted for five decades until the latter’s death at the age of 89 this week. Sholay, in which Dharam played the role of  lovable macho-romantic-comic Veeru, had catapulted him into super-stardom. Its a divine surreal coincidence that the 4K restored version of the Sholay classic  will be released in theatres across India on December 12 just four days after Dharam-ji's 90th birthday (Dec 8th)

“I will really miss him a lot,” Ramesh Sippy added, “Recently I contacted and met Dharam-jee's actor sons Sunny  Deol and Bobby. I just don’t know what to say except that all of us here will join in wishing him the very best in his new home, wherever he is.”
