The event marked a historic confluence of global rhythms and indigenous heritage, as Aoora made an indelible mark by becoming the first international artist to perform in Garo, Pnar, and Khasi languages, uniting music lovers in a heartwarming celebration of diversity. Meghalaya-Korea Cultural Ties Strengthened with KoreM Festival Principal Secretary, Government of Meghalaya, “Shri Frederick Roy Kharkongor, IAS noting the importance of this event, stated that “Today marks the beginning of the friendship, the artiste engagement, co-visiting of the artistes from Meghalaya to Korea and from Korea to Meghalaya. Produced by the Department of Arts & Culture, Government of Meghalaya, the anthem resonated with the festival’s spirit, echoing the universal language of music that bridges hearts across the world. Speaking about the experience, Aoora expressed deep gratitude and awe at the cultural exchange, stating, “To sing in Garo, Pnar, and Khasi alongside such talented artists was an honor that I will cherish forever. Music has the profound power to connect souls beyond borders, and today we witnessed that magic.” Minister of Arts & Culture, Govt. of Meghalaya, Bah Paul Lyngdoh observed that “There is a lot of affinities, a lot of similarities, and as we journey on together, we will find a lot that is common between Korea and Meghalaya”.
