Released in 2001, the blockbuster film Gadar starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, and directed by Anil Sharma, also featured famous comedian Kapil Sharma. He revealed this surprising detail himself on The Kapil Sharma Show.
Kapil Was Kicked Out by Director Tinu Verma
Kapil Sharma shared an interesting incident on his TV show The Kapil Sharma Show, revealing that the shooting for Gadar was taking place in Punjab at the time. His father, who was in the police, had his duty assigned there. Kapil’s father called him and said, “If you want to work in Gadar, come here wearing a white kurta.” Kapil went there, and he found the action director, Tinu Verma, standing on a jeep, directing the scene.
“I saw an empty spot, and I ran towards it,” Kapil recalled. He was running alone when the crew caught him and took him to Tinu Verma. The director, according to Kapil, then shouted some harsh words at him. Kapil tried to explain, saying, “I was just following the ‘action’ command, that’s why I ran.” But the director still kicked him out. Later, Kapil found out that Sunny Deol had not even come to the set that day.
Sunny Deol Wasn’t Present
Kapil further explained that during the shoot, Ameesha Patel and Amrish Puri were present on set. However, Sunny Deol had no scene that day, so he was not around.
Kapil Climbed a Train for the Shoot
Kapil also shared a funny story from the shoot: “The director said that as soon as 'action' was called, we had to climb the train.” Kapil and his friends followed the instructions and climbed the train. But they thought that with so many people on set, their scene wouldn’t make the cut, so they decided to climb down. That’s when the whole incident unfolded.
Kapil’s Scene Was Cut from the Film
When the film was finally released, Kapil took his friends to the theater to show them his scene, but to his surprise, his scene had been completely cut from the film.
Work Front
