Recently, amidst the honeymoon of spring, the auspicious wedding of Konark Gowariker, (son of renowned Bollywood director Ashutosh Gowariker) and Ms. Niyati Kanakia, (the lovely and beloved daughter of country's leading businessman Mr. Rasesh Babubhai Kanakia) was a grand affair that won the hearts of all present, as well as giving a unique touch to the event. Held on 2nd March 2025 in the spring season, city of Mumbai, the grand wedding ceremony was a perfect example of excitement, love, culture, heritage, ritual, and glamour. The Gowariker and Kanakia families, their friends, relatives, and the biggest stars and celebrities of the film industry came together to celebrate this beautiful everlasting union. Everything was like a pleasant fairy tale love journey.

The love story of handsome Konark and beautiful Niyati is something that many can only dream about. What started as a friendship slowly turned into a deep and meaningful relationship. These ritual events, one after the other, set the stage for the big day that lit up the whole of Mumbai with its rainbow bloom on March 2, 2025, in the celebration of the marriage of Konark and Niyati.

Let me start with the scene from February 28, when the atmosphere turned golden as close friends, family, and relatives applied the haldi on the newlyweds during the haldi ceremony. The haldi ceremony is known for its significance in Indian weddings. It is a symbol of purity and beauty. Friends and family applied haldi on each other's faces and the atmosphere was filled with fun and frolic.

The next evening after the Haldi ceremony, it was the Sangeet evening. And the musical fervor of this ceremony was such that not just friends and relatives but one of the most heart-touching moments came when Ashutosh Gowariker stunned everyone with his amazing dance performance to the superhit favorite song "Mitwa" from his film 'Lagaan'. This heart-touching performance while celebrating the happiness of his son's big day brought tears to the eyes of all present. As the guests cheered them on, the joyous atmosphere turned into a memorable celebration where the bride and the groom's father Ashutosh really burned up the dancing floor. Overwhelmed by the happiness of his father, son Konark embraced his him. A few days before the wedding, Ashutosh and  Sunita went personally to hand over the invitation card to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, and their picture with Shri Modi holding the wedding invitation went viral on social media.

On the auspicious day of March 2, Konark and Niyati took the vows of their lifelong commitment in the grand ceremony which was held in the huge premises of the 'Courtyard Mumbai' (Andheri East). The splendid hotel (Courtyard), built by   Niyati's family Kanakia Builders, was decorated as a magnificent wedding venue. The atmosphere was full of excitement and joy, with a blend of traditional elements with modern elegance and splendor. The venue was beautifully decorated with bright flowers and twinkling lights, which set an example of a grand eye-catching decoration. Niyati looked no less than a fairy in her delicately and intricately designed pastel light pink-hued lehenga (which had gold and silver patterns interwoven). She accessorized this beautiful lehenga with a heavily embroidered blouse and pink dupatta. Along with this, the bride Niyati looked absolutely beautiful in a multi-layered statement diamond necklace, earrings, choker, bangles, and maang tikka. The flashlights perfectly captured the shimmer of her dazzling embellishments. Konark too matched his bride in a classic, cream-coloured sherwani with intricate embroidery and beautiful patterns, a long stole with an orange decorative border, white headgear, and a multi-layered pearl necklace, which made the beauty of both of them dazzling.

Traditionally, the groom arrives at the wedding venue with a baraat, but for Niyati and Konark's big wedding, the story was different, innovative, and full of fun. Niyati broke the age-old traditions and danced her heart out in her own baraat, leaving the onlookers in splits and showering praises on the jolly nature of this new generation modern couple.

As they stood together under a beautifully decorated mandap, their love was evident in every smile and exchange of glances. There were many instances when both of their eyes welled up with tears. Family members showered their blessings and heartfelt best wishes.
