The trailer for the much-anticipated film "Do Patti," starring Kriti Sanon and Kajol, was released today, ramping up excitement among fans. Kriti plays a double role as twin sisters in the film, which marks her debut as a producer. Meanwhile, TV actor Shaheer Sheikh is making his presence felt on a larger platform with this web series.
Kajol Stuns in a Floor-Length Dress
At the trailer launch event, the entire star cast arrived in stylish looks. Kajol was particularly eye-catching in a stunning red floor-length dress, complemented by glossy makeup and flowing hair. In this series, she portrays a police officer.
Kriti Flaunts Her Look
Kriti Sanon, on the other hand, turned heads in a blue backless dress, showcasing her bold style. She posed effortlessly for the cameras, with a subtle makeup look and loose hair. She confidently flaunted her cleavage in this eye-catching outfit. The film’s hero, Shaheer Sheikh, also attended the launch looking dashing.
Kajol on Playing a Police Officer
When asked about her experience portraying a police inspector for the first time, Kajol said, “Having worked for so many years, whenever you wear a costume for a shot, it feels like you’re putting on a uniform. It feels like you’re in someone else’s clothes, regardless of whether it's a saree, salwar kameez, or pant-suit. But wearing a police uniform and stepping onto the set feels different. I didn’t ask Ajay Devgn what he thinks!”
Kajol continued, “It gives you a sense of authority and respect for yourself and everyone in uniform. You know you’re an actor, and it’s not your uniform, yet there’s an energy and a certain firmness in your demeanor. I really enjoyed playing a police role, and I’d love to do it again.”
When a journalist asked her to comment on Ajay Devgn’s Singham avatar, Kajol playfully remarked, “I just want to say that I haven’t taken any tips from him.” Another journalist inquired about who the bigger Singham is at home, to which Kajol humorously responded, “I’ve said this before at every stage: the real Singham (pointing to herself) is sitting right here!” Her witty comment earned loud applause from the media and the cast, making it a memorable moment of the event.
Kajol Praises Kriti
During the event, Kajol complimented Kriti, stating that it’s always fun to work with her. “I worked with her in 'Dilwale,' and it has been years. As an actress, she has grown tremendously. She looks completely different on the set of 'Do Patti.'”
Kriti on Her Characters
When asked which character she prefers more, Soumya or Shaili, Kriti shared, “There are many traits of Soumya that resonate with me and some that don’t. But I lean more towards Soumya. She isn’t very talkative, while I can’t stay quiet!”
Nervous About the OTT Release?
Regarding the film's release on OTT, Kriti and Kajol shared their feelings. Kajol mentioned, “I’m not nervous about this film. I’ve done my job to the best of my ability and am not worried about it. We just want your love for the film.” Kriti admitted to feeling a bit nervous, hoping the film receives love similar to that of “Mimi.”
Kanika - The Need for Good Writers in Bollywood
Kanika added, “There was a time when writers were completely overlooked, and their brilliant scripts went unappreciated. But now I’m so glad to see that this process has changed, and writers are gaining their rights and recognition. This is a golden era for the industry, focusing on writers and good stories.” She continued, “Appreciation always motivates people to do better work, and focusing on writers is genuinely improving stories, which is wonderful.”
Final Note: "Do Patti" is set to premiere on Netflix on October 25, marking Kriti's first film under her home production, Blue Butterfly Films. Directed by Shashank Chaturvedi and written by Kanika Dhillon, known for films like "Haseen Dillruba," "Manmarziyaan," "Kedarnath," and "Judgmental Hai Kya," the film promises to deliver an engaging narrative. Interestingly, Ajay Devgn's "Singham Again" is scheduled to hit theaters on November 1, just days after "Do Patti" releases on Netflix.
