Miss World 2025 Kicks Off Grandly in Hyderabad, India; Nandini Gupta Represents the Nation

The globally celebrated Miss World 2025 pageant, known for its legacy and glamour, is being organized in Hyderabad, India. Previously, in 2024, the event took place in Mumbai, while the first-ever edition hosted by India was held in Bengaluru.

Every year, this international event brings together the most beautiful and talented women from across the world. Contestants are evaluated on various aspects such as fashion sense, style, sense of humor, and social awareness.

A Spectacular Start to the 72nd Edition

The 72nd edition of Miss World officially began on Saturday, May 10, at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad. The event was graced by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Miss World Chairperson and CEO Julia Morley, and Miss World 2024 Krystyna Pyszkova, along with the global contestants.

No Contestant from Pakistan

This year, contestants from 110 countries—including India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh—are participating. Notably, Pakistan is absent from the list. The reason isn’t the India-Pakistan political scenario, but internal opposition from conservative religious groups in Pakistan. In 2023, Erica Robin represented Pakistan in the Miss Universe pageant, which drew significant backlash from radical Islamic communities, calling it “shameful.” Following the controversy, Pakistan chose to stay away from this year’s Miss World event.

Nandini Gupta Elevates India’s Pride

Representing India on this grand stage is Nandini Gupta from Kota, Rajasthan. After winning the title of Femina Miss India World 2023, she earned the honor of representing the country at Miss World 2025. On the very first day, during the National Costume Round, Nandini captivated hearts with her stunning outfit that celebrated India’s rich cultural heritage and golden legacy, making her stand out with elegance and pride.

Sonu Sood Joins as Judge

Adding to the glamour of the event, Bollywood actor and humanitarian Sonu Sood will be serving as one of the judges for Miss World 2025. His involvement brings added prestige and excitement to the pageant.

Grand Finale on May 31

The grand finale of Miss World 2025 will take place on May 31, where the winner will be officially crowned.
