Mushaira Celebrates Poetry, Music and Cultural Harmony With Renowned Artists

The Mushaira thus was a celebration of poetry, music and similar sensibilities which moved the audience through the power of words and artistic expression. The poets, musicians and artists that gathered for the Mushaira were chosen with great care to produce the optimum blending of emotional resonance stemming from memory, communal identification and cultural sensibilities.

Hasan Kamal Leads Spellbinding Poetry Evening

Renowned poets such as Hasan Kamal, Nusrat Mehdi and Rajesh Reddy held the audience spellbound with verses that reflected love, longing, social realities and quiet introspection. In turn, Shakeel Azmi, Altamash Abbas, Kashif Raza, Riyaz Saghar and Tasleem Aarfi offered powerful recitations that built upon a classical foundation but explored thoughts and ideas in poetry, much to the delight of the audience. 

Adding to the richness of the evening was the presence of celebrated personalities from cinema and music, including veteran actor Kanwaljit Singh, iconic singers Jaspinder Narula and Kavita Seth, noted musician Dilip Sen and acclaimed actor Lilliput, amongst others. Their presence further elevated the evening, underlining the deep bond shared between poetry, music and performance.

The intimacy was also perhaps what made the mushaira special. The mushaira was intimate in this sense.” The space became a collective listening room where silence was as powerful as applause. 

Reflecting on the evening, Sheeba Lateef, organiser and Managing Director of Trio – Set of Three Arts said, “The Mushaira is a celebration of heartfelt expression. Watching poetry, music, and storytelling come together so effortlessly reaffirmed our belief in creating platforms wherein art can speak to the soul directly.”
