Talented, charming actress and trained Kathak dancer Shubhangi Atre, who celebrates her birthday on April 11th, has received got one of her most- precious Bday Gifts-- two months in advance!

The film Bhabhiji assures non-stop laughter, chaos, and a full-blown comedy extravaganza with shock-surprises of horror and supernatural scenes. Packed with trademark humour, heightened drama, and larger-than-life situations, the trailer gives audiences a glimpse into a fast-paced, laugh-out-loud cinematic ride where familiar characters land themselves in hilariously unexpected circumstances.

Shubhangi is a highly acclaimed Indian television actress, widely recognised for her iconic portrayal of Angoori Manmohan Tiwari in the long-running sitcom Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!. She began her career post-marriage, eventually beating over 75 other actresses to land the career-defining role of the lovable and naive Angoori Bhabhi. Despite portraying an "uneducated character" on screen, Shubhangi in real-life is highly educated,  very intelligent, articulate girl holding an MBA academic degree.

Shubhangi Atre is set to make her Bollywood debut in the feature film adaptation titled Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain! – Fun on the Run, released in February 2026. Directed by Shashank Bali, the film transitions the beloved characters from the small screen to the Atre reprises her role as Angoori Bhabhi alongside original cast members Aasif Sheikh and Rohitashv Gour.

The movie features notable actors like Bhojpuri superstars Ravi Kishan, and Nirahua, and Hindi movies veteran star Mukesh Tiwari adding fresh cinematic scale to the super-hit franchise.

Shubhangi has described the film as a "perfect closure" after nearly a decade on television, expressing both nervousness yet with super-excitement about bringing the character to a theatrical audience. 

Before her massive success with Bhabiji, Atre made her mark in shows like Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Kasturi, and Do Hanson Ka Jodaa. However, it was her seamless transition into the role of Angoori (originally played by Shilpa Shinde) in 2016 that solidified her status as a household name. Her catchphrase, "Sahi Pakde Hain," remains a cultural phenomenon. After over 1,400 episodes and nearly 10 years, Atre recently decided to move on from the TV show to pursue more diverse and challenging roles, with the 2026 movie serving as her grand transition into films.. Shubhangi told me that she also plans to also diversify into OTT and more big-screen movies and TV shows! But only if the roles are substantial, enjoyable and exciting with multi-layers!
