“Never seen myself before, like this,” reacts Jackie Shroff who plays dreaded ‘Babbar Sher’ in Atlee’s ‘Baby John’! by Chaitanya Padukone

While calling him  “coolest actor”,  action- hero Varun Dhawan praises versatile co-star Jackie’s performance as “3.0”! Chilled out senior star-actor green-nature-lover Jackie Shroff who plays the dreaded villain ‘Babbar Sher’, was missed by everyone at the recent ‘Baby John’ news media-meet  ‘Baby John’ producer Atlee (of ‘Jawaan-SRK fame) predicts Jackie as “the star-villain of the year like Bobby Deol in ‘Animal in 2023 ”, Next day when I asked Jackie  (“Bhidu”) about his riveting menacing role in the Varun Dhawan-starrer  ---the unassuming affable senior actor sent me his exclusive response.

Reacted Jackie “ Yes  ‘Sher Babbar’ is a powerful negative character and even I have never seen myself before like this. But major credit also goes to ‘Baby John’ producer Atlee, director Kalees, the production houses, to the writers, the whole team.  Chaitanya, you know me since past  so many decades and I am sure even you have never seen me, in this shock-value get-ups and looks” laughed four Filmfare awards-winning multi-lingual actor Jackie who was last seen in Rohit Shetty’s ‘Singham Again’

Versatile macho star-actor-dancer  Varun Dhawan seems ecstatic with his action-packed yet emotionally-tinged dual role in eminent producer Atlee’s action-emotional family-entertainer ‘Baby John’ directed by talented Kalees (A. Kaleeswaran)  releasing on ( Dec 25th) Merry Christmas Day. Besides the dual role of a tough senior police officer ( DCP Satya)  and a caring Kerala-based father ( Baby John) of his little daughter there is yet another special reason why Varun Dhawan is super-excited. That’s also because in ‘Baby John’, directed by Kalees (A. Kalleswaran)  Varun has a dramatic- violent confrontation with macho veteran star Jackie Shroff’s deadly sadistic revenge-seeking character called Babbar Sher with multiple scary-grisly get-ups

Not surprisingly, Varun (who is paired in ‘Baby John’ opposite two charming-vivacious heroines  Keerthy Suresh and Wamiqa Gabbi ) highly praised his versatile co-star Jackie Shroff at a recently held press conference in Mumbai. The ‘Badlapur’ actor revealed he was thrilled to have worked with the veteran star and couldn't stop raving about his amazing experience. “ Jackie-Sir is a very chilled-out man, it was wonderful working with him. The way he treats people off-screen is just too amazing. I got to learn a lot from him, he is one of the coolest actors we have here," also praised rugged Jackie Shroff's professionalism as a co-star.  Disclosed  Dhawan, "I had to do some action-scenes with him too and he gave me full freedom. Both director Kalees and me had a great time working with Jackie sir. Interestingly, Atlee-Sir, who has directed Jackie in his earlier 2019 Tamil sports-drama movie ‘Bigil ‘ ( whistle) had only him in mind for the role from the very beginning And I must say, Jaggu-Sir has gone beyond expectations. This will be Jackie Shroff 3.0 in the film!"  By the way ‘Baby John’ is a Hindi adaptation of the Tamil super-hit Theri ( spark) which was also directed by Atlee.
