Now is it not ‘asli Singham’ Kajol’s turn to say “Aata Maajhi Satakli” ? ---in Kanika Dhillon’s ‘Do Patti’ (Netflix) which ‘re-unites’ her with producer co-star Kriti Sanon ! by Chaitanya Padukone

Over ten years ago, when mega-star Ajay Devgn played on-screen rugged police officer Singham Bajirao, I remember his star-wife Kajol sharing with me in a media interview,  that she had personally tutored Ajay to correctly pronounce the famous Marathi one-liner “Aatta Maajhi Sattakli”! (Which means ‘Now, I have lost my temper”)  At that point in time Kajol must not even have dreamt that someday in the future she would be cast as a pretty-tough investigating police officer in the suspense, thriller movie ‘Do Patti’ directed by talented Shashanka Chaturvedi.  The crime-thriller movie with lots of twists and turns and romantic songs releases globally on Netflix this month on Friday, October 25...

So at the ‘Do Patti’ ( Netflix) press conference when light-eyed charming Kajol spoke from the stage and gestured to the news-media—she startled everyone by declaring that she was always the ‘asli Singham’ !! Everyone seemed amused and amazed with her witty statement. The outspoken, zestful  Kajol while speaking separately to the news-media has said,  “I couldn’t be more thrilled to team up with Netflix once again after Tribhanga and Lust Stories 2, this time for an exhilarating cinematic-ride that is Do Patti. The opportunity to play a tough yet police officer for the first time in my acting career, on streaming OTT (Netflix ) has been super-exciting. . Secondly, it’s so great to work with super-talented team of brilliant writer-producer Kanika Dhillon, awesome award-winning actress that too in a twin-sisters double-role Kriti Sanon (of ‘Mimi’ movie fame), co-actors TV star Shaheer Sheikh ( his filmy debut)  and  Tanvi Azmi. Simply this allows us to venture into unexplored territories and present captivating stories to global audiences .  Honestly, Do Patti has a standout script that promises a unique blend of gripping engaging on-screen adventure, crime, suspense and mystery and melodious  musical songs,” shared the ‘Baazigar’, ‘Dushman’, Fanaa’, K3G,  and ‘Gupt-The Hidden Truth’ ---five-times Filmfare Awards winning versatile young-at-heart star actress Kajol.

Incidentally, in ‘Do Patti’, Kajol re-unites with producer-co-star Kriti Sanon after a gap of nine years having worked with her in ‘Dilwale’ (2015) where she played her younger sister
