  • Water and blood cannot flow together.
  • India does not accept any third-party intervention in the Kashmir issue.
  • If there's ever a dialogue with Pakistan, it will only be about terrorism and POK.

There’s no need to explain what's been happening in the country over the past two and a half to three weeks. Since the Pahalgam attack on April 22, 2025, a fire of rage has been burning in the heart of every Indian against terrorism.

Pahalgam attack on April 22

When people woke up on the morning of May 7, they were relieved to learn that the Indian Army had carried out "Operation Sindoor", destroying nine terrorist camps deep inside Pakistan. For the next two days, news channels went into overdrive, splashing WAR ON... type headlines and racing to report on counterattacks and developments. According to social media chatter, Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad were practically on the verge of surrendering under India’s flag. And then suddenly — a ceasefire is announced! Everyone was stunned. The entire country in shock.

What is Modi ji doing?

The Prime Minister remained completely silent throughout the entire episode. The news of the India-Pakistan ceasefire came not from any Indian source, but from U.S. President Donald Trump’s tweet, in which he congratulated himself for persuading both countries' top administrators to agree to a ceasefire. Pakistan’s Prime Minister Pervez Sharif publicly acknowledged and accepted Trump’s statement. India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri also gave a brief statement lasting only a few seconds, confirming the ceasefire.

And Then, Social Media in India Exploded with Chaos Critics of the government, supporters, leftists, right-wingers, “Godi media,” and Modi followers — everyone was furious. The country asked in one voice: Why did this happen when we were so close to victory? People began claiming that Operation Sindoor had failed. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s propaganda media began declaring it a victory. In India, people started searching for news related to late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and the 1971 India-Pakistan war which led to the birth of Bangladesh. Indira Gandhi’s legacy was celebrated, and comparisons with Prime Minister Modi began to surface. Tweets started to appear accusing Modi of “kneeling before the US President.” Congress and opposition parties demanded an all-party meeting where the Prime Minister should offer an explanation.

Still, PM Modi remained silent about participating in any such meeting — just as he hadn’t attended the earlier all-party meet before military action began, even though the entire country had stood united with the government. Instead, the day after the Pahalgam attack, he traveled to Bihar and boldly declared revenge in a public rally — repeating his statement in both Hindi and English, making it clear to the world that those terrorists who smeared the sindoor (vermilion) of Indian women by asking their religion would be dragged out even from the depths of hell and punished.

Then came the shocking twist — the ceasefire news didn’t come from India, but from US President Donald Trump’s tweet. His boastful message claimed that he had convinced the top administrators of both nations to agree to peace. Pakistan PM  Pervez Sharif acknowledged this claim. India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misir confirmed the ceasefire in a brief few-second statement. People in India were left stunned. How could this happen? The Shimla Agreement clearly states that no third-party intervention will be accepted in matters between India and Pakistan. So what about that?

The very next day, Trump doubled down with another tweet, claiming that after he threatened to halt all US trade with both nations, they agreed to the ceasefire. This inflamed Indian social media. The floodgates of criticism opened — calling Modi a hero-turned-villain. Critics mocked that while the country stood on the brink of war, PM Modi spent 9 hours at the “WAVES” film summit in Mumbai with Bollywood stars, and so on.

Then, in another tweet, Trump claimed credit for stopping a nuclear war, saying that his intervention prevented a possible nuclear clash between India and Pakistan.

Finally, on Monday, May 12, at 8 PM, PM Modi addressed the nation in a 22-minute speech, providing a full briefing on the entire episode. He declared that India had paused its war on terrorism, not ended it. “Operation Sindoor” has been postponed, not cancelled.

He revealed that Pakistan’s Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) had called India’s DGMO at around 3 PM, pleading for a ceasefire. Pakistan also made a similar plea to the US — as it always does. Since India does not believe in war and had entered this conflict solely to counter terrorism, it agreed to the ceasefire under the assurance that such acts would not be repeated by Pakistan.

But before India could explain its stance, Trump jumped in with his tweet at around 5 PM to take credit — which triggered a massive uproar across the country. Why did America announce India’s war pause before India itself? Though India’s three military wings — Army, Navy, and Air Force — released videos showing the extent of destruction inflicted on enemy territory by Indian drones and fighter jets, clarifying that India was on the verge of victory, the military stressed that their mission was solely to eliminate terrorist bases. A day before the ceasefire, two female officers, Sofia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, also reported the Indian military’s strong command over the situation. But Trump’s premature tweet caused confusion and raised doubts about India’s unity.

PM Modi, in his address, dispelled all confusion. He clarified that India’s military action against terrorism is on pause, not over — and that the army has full freedom to resume “Operation Sindoor” if needed. He emphasized that India does not accept third-party mediation (without naming Trump) in the Kashmir matter, and that any dialogue with Pakistan will only be about ending terrorism or concerning POK.

This message was not just for India — the whole world listened. Modi’s critics were silenced. Once again, patriotic messages supporting a strong Prime Minister began flooding Indian social media. Bollywood echoed the nation’s sentiment: Amitabh Bachchan and many stars praised the PM and the armed forces, using poems, film slogans, and the phrase “Jai Hind!” The fog of confusion has lifted. Truly, Prime Minister Modi has once again drawn a red line — bolder than ever before.
