Organizer Meghana Shendge appreciated for her successful ‘Curvy Glamour’ Beauty Contest-Pageant for ‘Plus-Size’ talented women—supported by Shabbir Shaikh! by Chaitanya Padukone

As is widely known,  ‘Miss India’ and other popular Beauty Contests are open ‘only’ to tall, smart females that too with attractive, slim figures,. As a result of which,  plus-size (overweight-rotund) yet pretty women and girls ‘never’ get easy opportunities to participate in any prestigious' beauty contests'.  These plus-size girls can only ‘dream’ of participating in ramp-walk fashion-shows-pageants .Because even there, only tall, slim girls-ladies are allowed to participate.

That’s why we highly appreciate the first-time ever “National record-setting” Curvy  Glamour Plus-Size  Beauty Contest Fashion Pageant (Season-1--2025) initiative ! Which was organized by dynamic social-welfare activist  Meghana Shendge  (founder of Meghana Charitable Trust) held recently at  Country Club outdoor lawns shamiana in Andheri West Mumbai, In which  'plus size'-body intelligent, talented 13 women participated as ramp-models and beauty contestants--symbolizing woman-empowerment and Stree-Shakti !

The ‘Curvy-Glamour’ event was attended by Bollywood film star-actress and Mrs. India Universe Rupal Mohata,  star ‘stand-up- comedian’ Sunil Pal, veteran music director Dilip Sen, actress-model  Sonam Arora, BJP leader-politician Vinod Shelar, leader-politician-MLA Aslam Shaikh,  the entire cast-crew-team of  upcoming movie Sarkari Bachcha  ( including actor Hemant Chaudhary and senior actor Brijendra Kala) .

Actively supporting the ‘C-G’ beauty-pageant event was promoter-publicist ‘Bhai’ Shabbir Shaikh ( Fortune -Lifeline Media-Entertainment) along with his dynamic co-organizer son Zubair Shaiikh  and Phalke Academy award winning eminent senior film journalist-author Chaitanya Padukone ---were all present at this fashion show, along with many  film and TV actors were present in this late  evening event

After initial selection rounds, ultimately 13 daring ladies actively  participated in this ‘Curvy Glamour’ live fashion show and competitive beauty-contest out which was judged by a panel  The final winner was Advocate – academic Teacher Latika Raghuvanshi,  the first runner up was Jigyasa Chauhan and second runner up was Kashmira,   Guest of honour and beauty-queen-model-actress Rupal Mohata congratulated all the three winning women but also said   that all the 13 plus-size women-participants are also 'winners'.  Because they have dared to  participate, cat-walk on the ramp  on this ‘Curvy Glamour’ platform and shown their special talents.  The tall, beautiful, articulate Rupal Mohata further mentioned that  she had successfully participated in Mrs India and Mrs Universe contests . Besides being a social and spiritual activist,  style-icon and actress-model Rupal said she was also busy working in Bollywood movies and  YouTube shows and TV shows and that her next project is an upcoming romantic-horror entertaining movie.

Chief event organizer-impresario Meghna Shendge  ( who also heads the ‘I Am The Best Ladies Club’)-  expressed “that lifestyle is fast-changing now and once the female-body  becomes plump and plus size, the females cannot wear the trendy clothes-outfits of  their choice with confidence. Which is why I decided that I will  bring forward and motivate the women with plus-size body to boost their self-confidence . They could also showcase their hidden talents in presence of invited guests, political leaders, news-media journalists-photographers and popular stars-celebs from music business and entertainment world,” said social crusader-philanthropist Meghana Shendge,  who proposes to organize many more such woman-centric ‘Curvy Glamour' fashion-shows-beauty pageants and awards ceremonies in the near future.
