Padma Shri Suresh Wadkar’s Daughter Ananya Wadkar Shines with ‘Wada Hai’ in ‘O Romeo’

Ananya Wadkar, the daughter of Padma Shri Suresh Wadkar and a young musical talent trained in Hindustani classical music from childhood, is making a strong debut as a playback singer with the enchanting song “Wada Hai” from Vishal Bhardwaj’s film O Romeo.

Ananya’s Debut Song Wada Hai Wins Hearts

Born into a musical family and rigorously trained in classical Hindustani music since her childhood, Ananya’s entry into cinema feels nothing short of magical. Her first playback song Wada Hai is already winning hearts with its purity, emotion, and subtle classical undertones. She has also lent her voice to the reprise version of Wada Hai and another song, Hum To Tere Hi Liye, which, although not included in the official album, has received immense appreciation from audiences for its soulful rendition.

Speaking about her experience working with Vishal Bhardwaj, Ananya says, “I grew up listening to Vishal sir’s music, and getting the opportunity to sing for him is truly like a dream come true. He is incredibly sensitive to the nuances and embellishments of any composition, yet he gives you the freedom to explore and express yourself fully within the song. Being able to convey emotions in my own style over his music has been an incredibly liberating experience.”

Apart from playback singing, Ananya is also an integral part of The Gen Next Collective, a band of young artists striving to create their musical identity while proudly embracing their legacy. The band represents personality, authenticity, and the pursuit of original artistic expression.
