Pooja was amused when Shah Rukh Khan ate a banana wrapped in a thepla.

During the shooting of DDLJ, not just Shah Rukh Khan, but the entire unit was like a family. Both Yash Chopra and Aditya Chopra always maintained a relaxed atmosphere on their set. Shah Rukh often said light heartedly "Everything in Yashji's films is heavenly, even the food. Even if a scene is exhausting, the stomach remains happy."

Actress Pooja Ruparel, who played Kajol's younger sister, "Chhutki," in "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge" (DDLJ),  recently shared a hilarious story about how  Shah Rukh Khan ate a banana and thepla combo during the lunch break of this film, leaving everyone stunned. Pooja recalled that her mother would often bring delicious theplas (a kind of spicy Gujrati paratha) from home  and Shah Rukh Khan would come to her makeup room and eat them with great relish. But he once ate a banana wrapped in the thepla, which made everyone laugh. Pooja says, "I was only 9 years old and thought, 'How funny is this? Who in the world would eat a banana wrapped in a thepla?'" But Shah Rukh is Shah Rukh, he can do anything.

This is what sets Shah Rukh Khan apart. Despite being a superstar, he is so down-to-earth and friendly that he made everyone on the set feel at home. During the shooting of DDLJ, the whole team said that Shah Rukh was always full of fun, laughter, and energy. Even in the cold mornings, when everyone was sleepy, he would cheer up everyone  with laughter.

Shah Rukh is known for his love of food. He has stated in many interviews that he loves Indian food, especially Delhi's street food, butter chicken, dal makhani, and parathas. Although ever since he became a film star, he's had to exercise restraint in his eating habits, but when he goes to Delhi, all restrictions are abandoned. These are his favourites. In such a situation, if Shahrukh experiments with a new combination, it's a different kind of fun.

Yash Chopra once laughingly said in an interview, "Shahrukh was always doing something—sometimes singing on set, sometimes joking around with new dialogues." He always turned the fatigue of shooting into entertainment.
