Gudi Padwa, which will be observed on April 9, is a spring festival marking the start of the lunisolar new year for Hindus, primarily those of Marathi and Konkani heritage. Actor Prasad Barve, who has been a part of popular shows like Shrimaan Shrimati Phir Se, Baalveer, Dill Mill Gayye, Chidiya Ghar, and Sajan Re Phir Jhooth Mat Bolo, to name a few, is excited to celebrate Gudi Padwa with his family. 

He shared, “Gudi Padwa holds great significance for me as it marks the beginning of the new year and the first festival. It's a profoundly auspicious day, often marked by significant purchases such as a new house or car. My favorite memory of Gudi Padwa celebrations is when I bought my first car; it was an incredibly special moment for me.”

He further shared that on Gudi Padwa, he and his family perform rituals like worshipping the Gudi, adorning their home with beautiful rangoli, dressing up in new clothes, preparing delicious prasad, and praying for a prosperous new year. Talking about the traditional dishes that they enjoy during the festival, he said, “Shrikhand Puri, Gulab Jamun, Amras, Puri, Varan Bhat with ghee, chutney, and papad. We offer these to the god before indulging, and we also relish Batasha and Lai, which my son particularly loves.”
 
His plan for Gudi Padwa this year involves making new resolutions, and reflecting on them the next year to see if he has achieved them.”
