Raksha Bandhan is a day that celebrates the sacred bond between siblings, reminding them of the love, trust, and lifelong support they share throughout their lives. In today's fast-paced world, where daily responsibilities and distances can often keep loved ones apart, Raksha Bandhan is not just a traditional occasion but a festival that allows every sibling to reconnect, cherish old memories, and express their appreciation for one another. It serves as a gentle reminder to pause, tie a rakhi, and celebrate the unique bond that siblings share, regardless of physical proximity or busy schedules. On this special occasion, Zee TV actors like Parineeta Borthakur from Vasudha, Abhishek Malik from Jamai No.1, Bharat Ahlawwat from Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile, Vandana Pathak from Tumm Se Tumm Tak, and Arya Babbar from Jagriti - Ek Nayi Subah open up about the heartwarming bonds they share with their siblings.
Parineeta Borthakur, who essays the role of Chandrika in Zee TV’s Vasudha, said,
“My cousin brother has always been my biggest cheerleader and strongest support. Our bond is filled with laughter, playful fights, and long-standing traditions that have only grown more special over the years. One memory that always makes me smile is from when we were younger and had to travel long distances with our family by train. While I’d get restless or bored, he’d always find a way to keep me entertained, whether it was making up silly stories, sharing secret snacks from his bag, or inventing games out of thin air. We’d sit by the window, talking for hours, watching the world go by. Moments with him are always filled with love and warmth. This Raksha Bandhan, I’m looking forward to meeting him in person, celebrating together with sweets and laughter, and tying a rakhi that’s as personal and meaningful as the bond we share.”
Abhishek Malik, who essays the role of Neel in Zee TV’s Jamai No.1, shared,
"My sister has always been my biggest inspiration and guiding light. She’s not just someone I admire, but someone who has truly helped shape the person I am today. She’s like a second mother to me. In fact, even today, the moment anything happens, she’s the first person I call. Since childhood, we’ve shared an unspoken bond that even our parents often noticed and appreciated. We’ve always been drawn to the same things, shared the same curiosity, and found comfort in just being around each other. No matter how far apart we are, every Raksha Bandhan, we make it a point to meet, spend quality time together, and celebrate the day as our own little tradition. Since we are both foodies, we often explore new restaurants around us, ending the day with a meal full of laughter, stories, and sibling love. That is the festive joy I look forward to every year."
Bharat Ahlawwat, who essays the role of Raghav in Zee TV’s Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile, said,
“No words can truly capture how much my sister means to me. She has always been my pillar of strength, standing by me in every situation, guiding me whenever I lost my way, and cheering me on through every milestone. We’ve always been a team, sharing every joy and challenge together. I feel incredibly lucky to have not just one, but two sisters, one real and one reel, who bring so much love into my life. I still remember a time when she really wanted a new school bag, and I secretly saved up just to buy it for her. Being able to gift her something she truly wanted made me feel proud; it was my little way of taking care of her, of fulfilling her wishes even back then. This Raksha Bandhan, I want to do the same, make her feel as special and cherished as she has always made me feel.”
Vandana Pathak, who essays the role of Gayatri Devi in Zee TV’s Tumm Se Tumm Tak, said,
"There’s a certain magic in how my brother and I can go from playful arguments to being each other’s biggest supporters. Some of my best memories have been made with him by my side. I still remember those carefree summer holidays at Nana-nani’s house. We’d spend entire afternoons playing Ludo, Antakshari, and painting. Now that he’s settled in the US, I find myself missing him a little more each day, holding on tighter to the memories that shaped our bond. From our playful fights over who will climb the tree first, renting a bicycle for half an hour, and who will ride first, to our ghoda-gadi ride to school every day, these light-hearted experiences have truly shaped our relationship. Though distance keeps us apart, our connection remains as strong as ever. This Raksha Bandhan, like every year, I’ll be sending him a rakhi with all my love, praying for his well-being, and hoping that we’ll be reunited soon to make new memories together."
Aarya Babbar, who essays the role of Kalikant in Zee TV’s Jagriti- Ek Nayi Subah, said,
"My sister has always been more than just a sibling; she’s like a second mother to me. As the elder one, she’s guided me, protected me, and loved me with a warmth that feels both comforting and unconditional. From our childhood days of watching movies together to laughing over our kitchen disasters, she’s been my constant and my safe space. Raksha Bandhan, for me, is a celebration of that bond, a day when I get to thank her for every hug, every scolding, every moment she’s stood by me. This year, we’re celebrating just the way we like it: at home, surrounded by family, sharing sweets, stories, and the festive joy that only grows stronger with time."
