Randeep Hooda as Rajpal Punia: Actor to Portray Indian Army Major General

Randeep Hooda will be seen as the main protagonist in 'Operation Khukhri'. He has acquired all the necessary rights to make a film based on this historical war. After the blockbuster success of 'Jaat', Randeep Hooda will now be seen in another exciting film very soon. This upcoming film will depict a very daring peacekeeping operation of the Indian Army, i.e., 'Operation Khukhri', which was carried out in the African country Sierra Leone in the year 2000. Randeep Hooda will play the character of Major General Rajpal Punia of the Indian Army in this film (at that time he was the young company commander of the 14th Mechanized Infantry). He was the man who rescued his 233 soldiers from the enemies after a siege of 75 days. This mission was successfully carried out amidst heavy fighting in the jungles.

Operation Khukri Film: Randeep Hooda Leads Saga

Whenever Randeep works on this project, he is heavily influenced by the deeply moving segment of the story, Operation Khukri. This is not a story of arms or war in any way, it is a saga of sacrifice, courage and brotherhood. For a military force to provide a lifeline to rescue 233 Javan's from an indefinite siege for 75 days is certainly no less than a miracle. The film is based on Penguin Random House India's bestseller book "Operation Khukri: The Untold Story of the Indian Arms Bravest Peacekeeping Mission Abroad", the official film rights of which have been acquired by Rahul Mitra Films and Randeep Hooda Films.

Talking about this project, Randeep said, "The story of Operation Khukri has touched me deeply. It is not just a story of war or weapons of war, but a story of sacrifice, brotherhood and courage. Just imagine, evacuating our soldiers safely from an African country where they were held captive for 75 days was nothing short of a miracle. It is a matter of pride and immense responsibility for me to play the character of a warrior like Major General Punia."

Randeep further says, "Our effort is to show the story of this amazing mission on the big screen with the same passion and respect as it was in real life. This story will inspire every Indian."

This mission started to maintain peace, but with time, it turned into a big conflict. Surrounded by enemies for 75 days, and standing firm without any supplies or resources, this is only a symbol of the bravery of Indian soldiers. This operation is counted among the most successful operations in Indian military history.
