What a historic coincidence--- that today is the 395th birth anniversary of iconic ‘Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj—it's his 'Jayanti' and the latest movie-biopic ‘Chhaava; made on his brave young martyr son Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj ( 'Shambhuraje') -- by genius director Laxman Utekar and showman producer Dinesh Vijan (‘Maddock Films) is creating box-office history-- having crossed Rs 165 crores on its fifth day, At this galloping pace the film ‘Chhaava’ may surely cross Rs 200 crores by this Saturday according to eminent senior cine-trade analyst Amod Mehra, . In fact Amod-jee had even correctly predicted the ‘Pan-India; super-success of ‘Chhaava’ just after watching the movie-trailer.

Spectacular historic movie Chhaava’ starring the latest macho Superstar Vicky Kaushal (“Vicktory Kaushal”) and charming stunning beauty-actress Rashmika Mandanna has been a Roaring Success at the box-office! The roars on the theatre-screens have only gotten louder. The Vicky Kaushal-led historical drama on the life of Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, directed by Laxman Utekar, seems unstoppable as it crosses the Rs 165-crore mark at the box office. Coinciding with Shivaji Jayanti which is being celebrated everywhere, it’s time for celebrations not only for the cast and crew team of the Dinesh Vijan but also for the Hindi film industry  The phenomenal success of  Chhaava brings a lot of optimism, confidence and hopr for the Bollywood industry. Chhaava has successfully seems to have defied the trend of super-hit ‘Sequels that had captivated the film-industry following the box-office success of films like ‘Drishyam-2, Gadar 2  Stree 2 and of course Pushpa-2 and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 ,  movie Chhaava’s impressive business even outside Maharashtra is simply because the patriotic emotions and actions- bravery-sacrifice content-treatment has Pan-India connect and the hero is a versatile Pan-India star . Maybe the film lacks in super-hit songs with recall-value. The movie ‘Chhaava’ also marks the biggest opener for Vicky Kaushal as a lead hero.

Directed by Laxman Utekar ( of National Awards winning ‘Mimi’ movie fame) and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, Chhaava is a historical action film based on the life of Maratha king Sambhaji, played by Vicky Kaushal.  Besides Rashmika Mandanna as Maharani Yesubai, Akshaye Khanna as Aurangzeb, Ashutosh Rana as Sarsenapati Hambirao Mohite, and Divya Dutta as Soyarabai. It is an adaptation of the Marathi novel Chhava by Shivaji Sawant. The film’s score and soundtrack album are composed by Oscar Award-winning genius A R Rahman, with lyrics penned by Irshad Kamil.
