Actor-filmmaker Anshuman Jha has officially announced that actress and former Miss India Sarah Jane Dias has now joined the cast of the much-awaited sequel Lakadbaggha 2 – The Monkey Business. Anshuman wrote on his social media that with the arrival of Sara, the team of Lakadbaggha has now become "stronger and stronger", which he proudly calls India's first Animal Lover Rakhwala Universe.
With her strong screen presence and being seen in different characters, Sara has recently given memorable performances in web series like Kankhajoora, Inside Edge and the internationally acclaimed film Angry Indian Goddesses.
After the success of Lakadbaggha , which engaged the audience with a unique action world that serves justice with compassion for animals, the sequel will be even more emotional, powerful and action packed. While Riddhi Dogra and Anshuman Jha will be seen returning to their respective roles, the story will be further strengthened with the entry of Chinese martial arts legend Sunny Peng and Sarah Jane Dias.
Anshuman Jha said, “Sara is a quiet storm on screen. Her strength, grace and depth make her a perfect fit for the world of Lakadbaggha. This time our team is not just back, but stronger, more powerful and more layered. With Riddhi and now Sara, we are making this universe even more emotional and bigger.”
Speaking on joining the film, Sarah Jane Dias said,
“I loved 'Lakadbaggha 1' and was very excited when I found out that the universe was expanding. It is rare to find a project that is both action-packed and with a real purpose, especially to protect the voiceless animals. Lakadbaggha 2 is bold, important and emotional. It has given me the opportunity to fulfill my career dream of doing action. I am very happy to be a part of this journey with Anshuman and the rest of the team.”
This time Lakadbaggha 2 – The Monkey Business will take the story of India’s first animal lover Rakhwala forward, this time traversing the dark world of illegal primate trade and global intrigue. With action, emotion and a purpose, this film is going to take the franchise to a whole new level.
Lakadbaggha 2 – The Monkey Business is being shot and will release in theaters in Winter 2025. This film pushes the boundaries of Indian action cinema while delivering a message of deep sensitivity.
