Shrit Chande’s journey is not some fairy tale where everything happened overnight. It is actually a raw story about rejection and survival and having the heart to keep going when everyone tells you "no." She entered the acting world with a skin tone that the industry didn't consider "standard" because let's be honest. The industry has always been obsessed with fair skin and a very specific type of beauty.

Shrit Faced Brutal Rejection Over Her Complexion

Shrit's biggest hurdle was always her complexion. There were times at auditions where she wasn't even allowed to step inside the studio. Imagine that. You travel all the way to give an audition and you aren't even allowed through the door because of how you look. When she did get a chance to speak the comments were even worse. People would tell her "Look there are so many fair and beautiful girls already in the market so why would anyone hire you?" They told her to just go get married or find a regular 9-to-5 job. They weren't just being mean. They were trying to kill her dream.
For a while they were almost successful in killing her spirit it.
She was completely broken at one point. When the news of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death came out, it shook her deeply. She started questioning everything. She thought if a successful star could feel that much pain, then what hope did a struggling girl like her have?
She was on the verge of giving up on her life. But in that dark moment she chose to fight. She remembered why she left home years ago and she knew she couldn't go back empty-handed. She had come too far to just stop.

The audition rooms were the hardest for her. Casting agents would say nasty things about her skin and her features and she would just stand there and listen. Since she didn't have a mentor to guide her she started believing that the casting agents taunts were correct.
She actually thought it was her fault that she didn't look the way they wanted. She was also very trusting. If someone said one kind thing to her, like "You're cool and you’ll go far" she would believe him or her completely.

But when those same people later rejected her it felt like a knife piercing her heart. She got shortlisted for so many projects only to be told " you aren't fair and beautiful enough" at the last minute.

Shrit doesn't like the word "self-made" because she thinks nobody truly does it alone.
She believes behind every success there are people who help you out in silence. For her one of those people was photographer Vikram Bawa. He gave her the confidence she needed and taught her how to pose and speak and stay focused. But even with support, the lack of money was a nightmare. She is very open about how important money is because without it the anxiety and trauma just get worse.
She has seen the absolute bottom.
There was a time when things got so bad she was practically homeless. She had to sleep outside shops or in buildings that were still under construction while working odd jobs just to buy food. Even after all that she kept getting rejected because of beauty standards. But something inside her kept saying that she was meant for something big.
Slowly she learned to stop asking for permission to exist. She stopped looking for validation from people who didn't matter. She started standing up for herself and refused to take insults anymore. Today she is stronger in her faith and totally focused on her goals.
For Shrit success isn't just about fame. It is about being respected and valued by the same people who used to ignore her. Her message to everyone is very simple. You either fight and move forward or you get ready to back down.
