In the entertainment world, authentically portraying good and evil characters is crucial. Siddhant Issar, son of Puneet Issar, has stepped into the role of Maalik, a shaitaan in Shaitani Rasmein, drawing inspiration from R. Madhavan’s acclaimed character in the film Shaitaan. Speaking about his journey in the show, Siddhant emphasizes the depth of his character.
Actor's Intense Prep for Maalik: A Tom Ellis-Inspired Villain
He shares insights about his preparation: “Maalik is a uniquely crafted character. Unlike loud villains, he possesses an intense and powerful presence. My preparation has been intense; I’ve focused on developing a deep, heavy voice while also enhancing my physical appearance. Maalik is an attractive man, similar to Tom Ellis from Lucifer, with a charm that's hard to resist. I also went and re-watched Shaitaan starring R. Madhavan as the antagonist just to understand how he brought convention to the character because when one talks about Madhavan the first image that comes to mind is of chocolate boy Maddy and the way he made a remarkable shift to such a character in the movie that is a kind of impact I wish to bring on screen. Maalik is an exceptionally powerful entity that cannot be defeated. My goal is to embody the essence of a demon who doesn’t need to be loud to instill fear; his aura does the job.”
Siddhant expresses pride in embracing villain roles: “While I’m not like this in real life, being a 'bad boy' requires conviction and commitment to the character. As I take on the role of Shaitaan, I genuinely see him as the hero of the show because I believe deeply in this character. I can't wait to make an impact on television with this role.”
