Subedar Trailer Out: Anil Kapoor Stuns as Radhikka, Mona Singh Attend Launch

On Monday, 23 February, the trailer of the highly anticipated film Subedar was unveiled in Mumbai. The entire star cast and makers were present at the special event. The action-drama, set to release on Prime Video, will premiere on 5 March. The lead actor attended the event along with Radhika Madan, Saurabh Shukla, Mona Singh, Faisal Malik, Aditya Rawal, and Khushbu Sundar. The film is directed by Suresh Triveni, who was also present on stage. Nikhil Madhok, Head of Hindi Originals at Amazon MGM Studios, also attended and spoke about the film’s vision and scale.

The event began with the anchor recalling the lead actor’s four-decade-long career, mentioning that while names and characters changed over time, his style, aura, and charm remained constant.

The actor said the film is very special to him and is one of the most challenging roles of his career. He shared that he performed the role with full dedication and believes a film’s success depends entirely on teamwork. He added that the journey is not his alone but also belongs to the audience, whose love motivates him to work harder. The film was shot on real locations in Lucknow, Agra, and Kanpur without green screens, making both the action and emotions feel authentic.

During the trailer launch, the lead actor appeared in a playful mood. When asked about his equation with heroines, he jokingly said that none of them are ready to work with him anymore, and even senior actresses prefer working with younger actors. A representative from Prime Video mentioned that this is one of their biggest commercial films, releasing in 240 countries, offering a global platform while retaining Indian emotions.

Nikhil Madhok added that while the story is rooted in a small-town setting with grounded characters, it is presented on a large international scale, blending Indian emotions with global appeal.

About the Trailer

The trailer showcases a region dominated by illegal sand mining, creating an atmosphere of fear and silence. Retired Subedar Arjun Maurya returns home carrying the burden of his past. He eventually clashes with Prince, played by Aditya Rawal. Mona Singh appears as the main antagonist.

One powerful dialogue stands out: “A soldier can take a bullet in the chest, but not an insult.” The film also focuses on Arjun’s strained relationship with his daughter Shyama, adding emotional depth. Themes of respect, family, and survival are central as tensions escalate.

Release Date

Subedar will premiere on 5 March on Prime Video. It will be available across India in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, and will stream in 240 countries and territories worldwide.
