Diwali, the festival of lights, brings joy and nostalgia to many. Sun Neo actors Sneha Wagh, Kamya Panjabi, and Sangita Ghosh share their heartfelt reflections on celebrating this special occasion. Sneha fondly recalls childhood treats and family traditions, while Kamya reminisces about the fun of card parties and family gatherings
Sneha Wagh, who plays Chhathi Maiyya in Chhathi Maiyya Ki Bitiya, shares, “This year, we’re not celebrating Diwali due to my grandmother’s passing. Diwali has always been my favorite festival. As a child, I eagerly awaited the week-long school break to visit my naani and daadi. Mom made delicious Maharashtrian treats like chaklis and laddoos, and I enjoyed making colorful rangolis and lighting diyas. Although I wasn't fond of crackers, I loved the soft glow of phooljhadis and anaars.”
Kamya Panjabi, who portrays Mohini in Ishq Jabariya, says, “Diwali is special—it's family time filled with sweets and card parties. Unfortunately, I’ve missed the past two years due to work and travel to Delhi. I usually alternate my celebrations between Delhi and Mumbai, so I miss out on the card parties, but it’s still a joyous time for my family.”
Sangita Ghosh, who plays Saroj in Saajha Sindoor, expresses, “This Diwali is extra special as I’m back in Jaipur with my daughter, Devi. Despite my shooting schedule, I managed to take some time off, and I’m excited to celebrate with her. Now that she’s almost three, she’s eager to join in the festivities. I look forward to dressing her up, doing puja together, and lighting phuljharis and anars. Celebrating with her at this age will be a lot of fun!”
Chhathi Maiyya Ki Bitiya follows Vaishnavi (Brinda Dahal), an orphan who sees Chhathi Maiyya as her mother. Ishq Jabariya tells the story of Gulki (Siddhi Sharma) and her struggles to achieve her dreams. Saajha Sindoor depicts Phooli (Stuti Vinkle), who is labelled an unmarried widow after her groom dies on their wedding day.
Watch Chhathi Maiyya Ki Bitiya, Ishq Jabariya, and Saajha Sindoor Monday to Saturday at 7 PM, 7:30 PM, and 8 PM on Sun Neo.
