On the holy occasion of Navratri, Bollywood actor Govinda ’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, performed Kanya Pujan at her residence with devotion and reverence. On the day of Navami, she, along with her son Yashvardhan Ahuja, worshiped little girls as manifestations of Goddess Durga and offered them meals. Sunita has always observed fasts with full dedication during Navratri and immerses herself in the worship of the Goddess. This year too, she celebrated the festival with the whole family, making it even more special. She believes that Navratri symbolizes feminine power, and Kanya Pujan is a way to express gratitude and respect toward that power.

On this auspicious occasion, Sunita Ahuja wore a red salwar suit adorned with golden embroidery. The neckline was kept simple, while golden motifs around it added a radiant touch to her face. The plain salwar completed the look. A highlight of her attire was the unique gold mangalsutra pendant featuring a cow design, which drew everyone’s attention.

Her son, Yashvardhan, chose a red kurta with golden motifs and broad sleeve borders. Paired with a white pajama, the outfit gave him a completely traditional appearance.

Puja, Rituals, and Childhood Memories

During the event, Sunita shared that after her mother-in-law’s demise, she has taken charge of Navratri celebrations at home. She observes a nine-day fast, during which no garlic or onion-based dishes are prepared. She doesn’t eat until she performs the Kanya Pujan. This year, Yash also participated in the ritual.

Recalling childhood memories, she said that earlier, she used to look forward to halwa-poori and gifts during Kanya Pujan. Today, she finds fulfillment in serving the girls herself.

On Feminine Power

Sunita said that women are incredibly strong and should not limit themselves to their homes. At the age of 55, she started her own YouTube channel and earned the Silver Button after posting just three videos. She wants every woman to step out, believe in themselves, and pursue their dreams. Life is uncertain, so it’s important to be happy while alive. Age is never a barrier to success; all you need is confidence.
