Inspired by ‘Haqeeqat’

During the launch event of Ghar Kab Aaoge, Sunny Deol recalled his father Dharmendra and revealed what inspired him to do a film like Border. He shared that Dharmendra’s 1964 war classic Haqeeqat left a deep impact on him during his childhood. Sunny Deol said,
“When I watched my father’s film Haqeeqat, I was very young, but the film shook me from within. When I became an actor, I decided that I too would do a patriotic film like my father.”
With this thought, he spoke to director J.P. Dutta, and together they decided to make Border—a film that not only won audiences’ hearts but continues to live on in them even today.

Iconic Dialogues of Sunny Deol in Border

1.“Mathuradas ji, aap khush hain ki aap ghar ja rahe hain. Lekin jo yeh khushi ka behuda naach aap apne bhaiyon ke saamne kar rahe hain… achha nahi lagta.
Aapki chhutti isliye manzoor hui hai kyunki aapke ghar problem hai. Lekin duniya mein kiske ghar problem nahi hoti? Zindagi ka doosra naam hi problem hai.
Aapke inhi bhaiyon mein koi aisa hai jinki vidhwa maa aankhon se dekh nahi sakti aur jinka iklauta beta registan ki dhool mein kho gaya hai.
Koi aisa hai jinki maa ki asthiyaan intezaar kar rahi hain ki unka beta jang jeetkar aaye aur unhe Ganga mein baha de.
Kisi ka boodha baap apni zindagi ki aakhri ghadiyan gin raha hai aur har roz maut ko yeh kehkar taal deta hai ki meri chita ko aag dene wala, door border par baitha hai.
Agar yeh sab apni problems ka bahana dekar chhutti le lenge, toh yeh jang kaise jeeti jaayegi? Batao, Mathuradas!
Isse pehle ki main tujhe gaddar karaar dekar goli maar doon… bhaag ja yahan se!”

Jo bole so nihal, Sat Shri Akaal.
Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh!”
