‘Tere Ishk Mein’ Trailer Launch Dhanush’s ‘Om Namah Shivay’ Chant and Kriti’s “Main Na Aise…” Dialogue Steal the Spotlight

On Friday, 14 November, the trailer of the musical-romantic film Tere Ishk Mein, starring South actor Dhanush and Kriti Sanon, was launched in Mumbai. Apart from the two stars, director Aanand L Rai and Bhushan Kumar were also present at the event. The film is directed by Aanand L Rai, who earlier delivered the hit film Raanjhanaa with Dhanush. The director-actor duo is now ready to create magic again with Tere Ishk Mein. Aanand L Rai had first hinted at this project during the 10th anniversary celebration of Raanjhanaa in 2023.

At the trailer launch event, Kriti opened the evening by delivering a dialogue from the film: “Main na aise ladkon ki mentality jaanti hoon… jab woh ladki ko shaadi ke jode mein dekh lete hain na, toh woh chale jaate hain.”

Kriti Sanon Speaks

Kriti Sanon, who often says that she loves emotional and deep love stories, shared that working with Aanand L Rai had been a long-standing dream for her. She said she had been meeting him for years and wished that someday he would cast her in a love story because she felt deeply connected to that genre.

Kriti said, “Look, this journey actually started years ago, because I have met Aanand sir many times. I have been behind him for years, telling him that I wanted to be directed by him in a love story. I think it has always been on my wish list. I absolutely love love stories.”

She added, “This is my favourite genre, and I always wanted to be directed by someone like him—someone whose stories touch the soul, whose love stories are never simple. And one day, finally, the opportunity came. It felt like liberation. The way Himanshu has written the film, and the way Aanand sir has visualized it…”

Kriti also revealed that the role changed her usual approach to acting. Instead of being fully prepared and structured, she surrendered completely to the director’s vision and allowed herself to perform more naturally and intuitively.

Promoting the film, she smilingly added, “I hope Tere Ishk Mein makes you fall a little in love too.”

Dhanush Speaks

Dhanush began his speech at the event by chanting “Om Namah Shivay.” He then addressed the audience and spoke about his bond with Aanand L Rai. Dhanush said, “This is not the first time I am working with a great and incredibly talented director like Aanand sir. I have worked with him before as well. He has always supported me and given me beautiful stories. I don’t regularly do Hindi films—I do them occasionally—and they are very different from my South films.”

He further added, “One more special thing about this film is that A.R. Rahman sir has given the music once again, and everyone knows the magic and beauty of his compositions. And Bhushan Kumar is also associated with the project, which is a mark of success in itself.”

Praising his co-star Kriti Sanon, Dhanush said, “I consider myself lucky to have worked with such a beautiful, talented, graceful and focused actress. I truly enjoyed working with her, and my experience was wonderful.”

Is This Film a Sequel to Raanjhanaa?

The biggest question at the event was whether Tere Ishk Mein is a sequel to Raanjhanaa, since fans assumed so after seeing Dhanush and Aanand come together again for a love story.

When asked directly, Aanand L Rai clarified, “This film has the same passion and emotion that Raanjhanaa had. But the story is completely new. Yes, my lead hero is again Dhanush—that is the only similarity. Apart from that, Tere Ishk Mein has nothing to do with Raanjhanaa. It is a fresh and different film.”

Is It Easy to Get Dhanush’s Dates?

Another question at the press conference was whether it is easy for Aanand L Rai to get dates from Dhanush, since the actor does very few Hindi films and Raanjhanaa was a major hit in his Hindi career.

Smiling, Aanand said, “Once a relationship is built, things do become easier. Now, because of our love and bond, I don’t have to narrate too much. But even the first time we met—me, Himanshu and Dhanush—he said yes within 10–15 minutes. That’s when I understood that I wasn’t just getting an actor, I was getting a brother.”

What Is the Story of the Film?

Tere Ishk Mein is a passionate love story where Shankar (played by Dhanush) seems to win even after losing everything. The trailer opens with a powerful scene that instantly creates an impact. Dhanush appears as Indian Airforce Officer Flight Lieutenant Shankar, while Kriti is seen with pain and regret in her eyes. The narrative then shifts into a flashback that portrays Shankar’s madness for love. The scenes and dialogues in the trailer are gripping and intense, increasing excitement for the film.

Release Details

Tere Ishk Mein will release in theatres on 28 November. The film has been produced under the banners of Gulshan Kumar, T-Series, and Colour Yellow Productions. The story and dialogues have been written by Himanshu Sharma, whose writing is once again expected to deliver powerful, earthy, whistle-worthy moments.
