Thaandavam’ Song Unveiled Nandamuri Balakrishna Shares His Spiritual Journey & 50 Years in Cinema

On Friday, 14 November, the first song of the highly anticipated film Akhanda 2, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna (NBK), ‘The Thaandavam’, was unveiled in a lavish event at PVR Theatre, Juhu. During this event, the complete song was presented to the audience for the first time. The track is a vibrant expression of Shiva’s divine power and devotion, featuring the powerful voices of Padma Shri awardee Kailash Kher and singer-composer Shankar Mahadevan. The music is composed by S. Thaman, with lyrics penned by Kalyan Chakravarthy. The launch event was attended by Nandamuri Balakrishna (NBK), Harshaali Malhotra, Kailash Kher, Veda Agarwal, and the entire film team.

NBK’s Powerful Speech: Spirituality, Service & 50 Years in Cinema

Nandamuri Balakrishna was welcomed with loud applause as he took the stage. He spoke openly about his simple spiritual routine. NBK said, “I am a spiritual person, and my every morning begins with prayer and gratitude. My journey in the healthcare sector is deeply personal. I lost my mother to cancer, and that loss became my purpose. For the past 15 years, I have been serving as the chairman of our cancer hospital. It was my father’s dream, built so that even those who cannot afford treatment receive care, dignity, and hope. It is a blessing that the hospital was inaugurated by the late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji, whose presence and blessings continue to inspire our mission every day.”

He further added, “As artists, we create from the heart, but it is the audience who gives our work meaning. Thaandavam and Akhanda 2 are special because they represent the collective effort, passion, and belief of so many people. I am overwhelmed by the love of my fans who have stood by me for five decades. Their devotion is my true strength.”

During the program, Usman Khan expressed his admiration for Nandamuri Balakrishna, saying that standing beside him on stage felt like being in the presence of a powerful natural force. He added that NBK’s boundless energy, humility, and commanding screen presence inspire every artist. According to him, Thaandavam is just a glimpse—NBK is bringing a storm in Akhanda 2 that will thrill audiences.

Harshaali Malhotra’s Heartwarming Return

Harshaali Malhotra, who won hearts as Munni in Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), is making her comeback to the big screen after 10 years. Taking the stage, she greeted everyone with,
“Namaskar to all. How are you?”

She continued, “When I got this film, I was very happy. I’m grateful that after 10 years, I’m returning to theatres—and that too with South India and India’s legendary star NBK sir. After working with SRK and Salman Khan, sharing the screen with a stalwart like NBK feels like a dream.”

Kailash Kher’s Devotional Magic

Padma Shri singer Kailash Kher shared that when he was offered the song Akhanda Thaandavam, chants like ‘Har Har Mahadev’ and ‘Om Namah Shivaya’ flowed out of him naturally. At the event, he even sang a few lines live, filling the entire atmosphere with divine Shiva energy.
