What is your character in The Bengal Files?

In the film, I play the young Bharti. Pallavi ma’am (Pallavi Joshi) plays Maa Bharti. The entire story is narrated through my perspective, giving the audience a glimpse into the events of the 1946 Direct Action Day. (Simratt Kaur Randhawa upcoming films)

How did you prepare for such a difficult subject and character?

Honestly, it was not easy – mentally or emotionally. I have never witnessed my loved ones dying or being brutally killed, but the script was so powerful and deeply written that I would tear up just while reading it. Also, I was born in Mumbai in a Punjabi family, whereas my role was that of a Bengali girl. For that, I had to work hard on the cultural nuances, language, and attire. How was your experience working with director Vivek Agnihotri?

Working with Vivek sir is very easy and comforting. He knows exactly what he wants from his actors. He never pressures us; instead, he gives us classes on knowledge and history (Simratt Kaur Randhawa movie list), which helps us deeply understand our characters. Trust between a director and actor is very important, and Vivek sir is absolutely honest in this regard.

What challenges did you face during shooting?

There were many challenges. For some scenes, we had to spend hours in the mud, perform dangerous stunts in cold mornings. In one scene, I had to jump off a burning truck (Simratt Kaur Randhawa Hindi debut), and I ended up injuring my hand. But all of this made me stronger.

What message will the audience take away from the film?

I believe the audience will learn about a historic event that very few people know in detail. Direct Action Day has remained confined to textbooks, but our film will bring it alive on screen. There isn’t just one hero in this film; every character is significant in their own way.

Do you think this film will be a turning point in your career?

This is my third film, and getting such a big role is truly a blessing. I believe every film is an opportunity to learn, and I am still in the process of learning. Yes, this project is definitely very special to me.

What is your dream role and dream director?

My dream is to act in a historical and grand film like Mughal-e-Azam. As for directors, I would love to work with every good filmmaker because each one teaches you something new.

What message would you like to give to the audience?

Our film is releasing on 5th September. It is not based on controversy but inspired by true historical events. I sincerely request everyone to watch it in theatres. This is a wonderful (Simratt Kaur Randhawa Bollywood movies) opportunity to understand our history.
